Hi Everyone,
New Tesla owner here - on an extended stay taking care of sick family. Drove up all the way from Las Vegas via Utah, Idaho, Oregon. Kinda brutal for us and I'll have more on my 1200+ mile trip on another post coming soon. However, my question for you locals is...
Anyone drive from Pendelton Casino Charger to Cle Elum and get re-routed to a small 2 lane road that drives by fields instead of going around from Umatilla to Badger and Prosser? We are a new Tesla travelers and this was our first long trip and the Mrs. was none to happy to be traveling in the dark on what seems like a very deserted small road with barely anyone around. She was afraid that if I got us lost, we would be lost for days with no signal and sick family waiting worrying if we died or something.
Anyhow, it was so dark and scary, I want to avoid this type of re-routing in the future. I used both Tesla and ABRP and I'm not sure which one my gps was using at the time but suspect it might have been ABRP. This stretch of road made us want to return via Reno instead of back tracking and re-living that nightmare feeling of "are we going to die on this road?"
Question: How did I end up on this road and how the hell do I avoid this type of error again beside looking at google street view prior to my trips?
Next question: My M3 is new to me but used with 42K miles 2021 SR with 19". I developed a slight slow leak on the back right tire during this trip. It alerted me to low pressure of 33 vs 42 for the rest of the tires. I filled up at a gas station and filled it up to about 45 psi and accidentally filled the opposite one to 48 for a bit of my drive. What tire pressure gauges and inflators do people like to use with their cars?
Final question: I've got many USB -A type devices and need more of those rather than the plentiful type -c connections, do I just get a connection adaptor or a usb hub if I want to connect my phones to charge? I do not own an iphone nor a phone with wireless charging, thus I can't use that nice built in charger. My phone died on me and I was charging using a cig lighter adaptor to USB connector and my phone would only charge about 5% an hour. I'm going to have to fix my phone charging situation before the return trip.
Thanks for listening and hope to hear some good recommendations.
