What's Wrong With This BallJoint

Noticed this on the driver side upper ball joint. Anyone have any ideas of what is going on here? Looks more than a leaky ball joint to me. Maybe some JB Weld or something similar... Very hard material; I would be able to pry it off with a tool but not with my hands. Bought the car used from Tesla with <10k miles.

My motto has always been, "if it is in warranty, it's their problem". I would have thwm look at this valid concern of yours.

It was a TSB. To reseal the top of the control arm joint. They slap on that goop.

That and to attempt to prevent moisture/water entering the ball joint causing the common loud squeak/creaking when turning your wheels.
Not sure if any of the new 2023 have got the updated redesigned control arms yet, there was pictures and link to company that redesigned them overseas.
