When DCFC can Tesla cars protect themselves if pedestal manfunctions?

There has evidently been several instances where CCS1 equipped BEV's have potentially been damaged due to faulty Electrify America charging pedestals. Now that many Tesla vehicles can DCFC at locations other than Tesla Superchargers using an adapter, is there anything in a Tesla vehicle/adapter that can stop or minimize potential damage? It is my understanding that the car communicates with the charging pedestal to request a DC voltage/amperage level which dynamically adjusts during a charging session? If a charging pedestal outputs a higher voltage/amperage level than was requested by the car, during a session, is there anything the car can do to protect or limit any potential damage? If the contactors, that route the DC energy into the HV battery, where opened under load seems there could be an substantial arc.
