Who are the oldest Tesla owners? Possibly got my grandparents on the hook to buy MS.

I'm not entirely convinced a Model S is the best car for people over 80. For several reasons:

- The Model S is a 4,650 lb battering ram. Given the recent crashes with the Model S, I think we can safely say that if the Model S is in a head-on collision with a train, the train would lose. I'd rather have older people driving safer cars, for everybody else. Maybe a NEV would be better...
- The Model S doesn't have some safety features like blind spot detection, lane assist, precrash breaking, etc. My reaction time is fine, so I don't need them, but again, I can see the utility for older people.
- The Model S, with it's regenerative breaking on the accelerator pedal, and where the regen is sometimes off, is significantly different to drive than fossil cars. If you have 50 years of experience driving a specific way, the transition will be harder.

The fact is that the older you get, it becomes less and less the issue of "if" you're going to have an accident, and more and more the issue of "when" you'll have an accident. Even if you pass all the medical exams and you still feel fine, things can go downhill faster than expected, and then suddenly you're going the wrong way on the freeway.

I could argue their old car which is about 700 pounds less weight is just as dangerous. That was before many of the improvements of a shock absorbing frame, so their both flying bricks. The big difference is that my younger cousin who is 16 drives their car quite a bit and their old 3 star rated car is a death trap in my opinion, I'm scared to drive the thing, it has intense body roll and cant turn worth a darn. The 16 year old is a girl btw, that makes a difference.

Leaving in about 1/2 hour for test drive. 30% chance he will reserve one after the ride in my opinion. He loves tech but he sounds cautious of switching to electric.

Just got back, this will be my last post.

Good news, he didn't say anything for certain. BUT he did say things like "This would be a great car for Florida" and "wow, that acceleration". He wants to show my gramma but she needs a higher off the ground car. So not sure if he will get one. Maybe my uncle will.

I ended up driving the car instead of him. All I can say is that it's a spectacular car, I did a zero to 45 sprint and a 40 to zero stop. If I hadn't see the specs I'd say the car felt like it was light. OHH and the car I drove had the scissors from the ribbon cutting in Normal, IL!

What surprised him the most?
-The idea of not having traditional engine maintenance. He said something like "Really all you need to do is rotate the tires?"
-The specialist, she wasn't pushy, super friendly.

Surprised me?
-How quiet the car is. It actually scared me, I'm not sure why.
-Regen, it took some getting used to.
-How different the steering wheel options are.

FUMBLES AT THE STORE
-The display car didn't work very well. The voice recognition failed, internet didn't load even the Tesla website well. Seemed the car was really buggy.

Wow guys, you picked a great car.
