Windshield crack! Recommendations to repair in Central Florida?

I was on the 417 this morning and a truck kicked up a rock that went straight into my new (less than 800 miles on it) windshield and put a nickel-sized pock mark in it with small cracks. It's pretty close to my line of sight.

I have full windshield tint and a Blackvue installed so I don't want to replace the windshield. Are there any local recommendations for repair? I don't want my insurance premiums to go up so I'd rather do this out of pocket if possible, even though I know we have a $0 deductible in Florida on windshields.

Yeah.. not too happy about it but it could be worse.

I had Safelite come to my office yesterday and they were able to repair it surprisingly well. I've attached pictures of the before and after from the inside of my car. It has gone from that bug splat mark to almost unnoticeable.

If you look at the shadows of the tree branches it is the gray dot just above that.

$100 out of pocket. My insurance could have picked it up but they only cover a windshield once, so if the repair didn't fix it and it continued to crack I would be out my $500 deductible. So far holding up great.

New windshield is over $1700, so that's probably why it's so expensive to insure an X in Florida.

Ask your insurance agent for recommendations in your area, even if you don't file a claim
