Windshield Wiper Piece?

A new MYLR owner and new to the forum. I’m curious what this little square piece is on the driver side windshield wiper? It looks like a clip of sorts. I’m sure it’s intended to be there and I’ve worried about using the wipers and this piece damaging the glass. Any info is appreciated, thanks!

It’s a fluid sprayer. How would it damage the glass? It’s not touching the glass.

Thank you for the info and excellent point. Just me being paranoid. I didn’t see one on the passenger side or at least it doesn’t stick up as high. Thanks for relieving the anxiety
