I applied for work for them in 2007 but I suppose I didn’t meet their demographic affirmative action mandates. It’s ok: I think they’ve lowered their standards so much now that it would be unsafe for me to work there, so I’m no longer interested in working for mass death incineration forest killing murderers.

I'm not sure in what context rails would be used, even in the last century, but every example I can think of, I'd very much like not to be on those rails.
