Worth considering exchanging a M3 2019 vs an older X

We already have M3 2019 SR+ FSD and we have a 2014 MDX.

Right now the SR+ is the commuter car
MDX is for the family trips out of town (we are 6ppl)

Considering trading them both in on day + some cash and getting an older X.

How are the day to day driving dynamics of the X (i.e: commuting, tight parking) etc....
Anything else to consider?

The X is a relatively big car, like the MDX. The Raven X's (2019+) have a smoother suspension than the older ones, but you are coming from a 3 which is suppose to be pretty firm. The X is not going to be a 3 in the twisties. It is much more like a large SUV. Friends have a MDX and don't think it handle well compared to the BMW X5 they use to have, but BMW was firm also. Again, you have MDX so not the sportiest thing out there to should be OK(compare to X5 at least which is firmer). Tight parking, it is a big car, but the ultra sonic sensors, cameras and dash display that show distance to object as parking is nice and makes it easy to see how far you are from obstacles.

There is that whole MCU2 thing on older S&X to remember with whole replacement if EMMC chip is bad. Range will be less than a 2019+ where they got 326,351 and 371 EPA for the Long Range as time went on. Before, the 100s were 295 miles. Older smaller batteries will be less, but your Super Charger situation may vary and not be a problem for you.

Always recommend a test drive and hit different roads (city, highway). Can tell if the seats fit you and the size is ok.

Depends on where you road trip. If you can swing a 100D, and you're close to highways all the time and good supercharger coverage, sure. If not, keep the MDX for road trips, IMO

Size wise, the X feels very much like any other midsize crossover. It's wide but easy to park, the wheelbase isn't that long so it turns relatively tight for something with 7 seats. Visibility in traffic is surprisingly good considering the lozenge shape, and the autopilot visualization does a decent job of picking up vehicles in the blind spot. Mirrors are big too.

I wouldn't be a buyer of any X right now. The market is bananas but that won't last forever once the refresh cars start kicking out in numbers
