Yet another 85kWh supercharging thread

Did another test Today, same V3 supercharger, 9 degrees celsius outside, battery was at 28 degrees celsius (car still has a debug profile that shows temps) when arrived with 7%. Here are the numbers:
7% 112kW for just few seconds
10% 92kW
12% 85kW
15% 81kW
20% 76kW
25% 70kW
30% 69kW
35% 66kW
40% 64kW
45% 60kW
50% 54kW
55% 50kW

For a total of 37kWh in 33 minutes. I understand Everyone is experiencing slow speeds above 30%, but mine seems low from start. At the end battery was at 40 degrees celsius.

That's consistent with the charging speed my 2015 S85D gets now. In the good ol' days, there used to be a rule of thumb that if you added the state of charge in percentage to the power in kW you'd get roughly 120 (e.g. drawing about 80kW at 40% SOC). Nowadays that number for me is typically around 105-110. My car has around 101K miles, and I charge it at home for everyday operations. I don't Supercharge a lot but I do hunt Superchargers (187 at last count), and this charging curve is pretty consistent across every place I've been in the last 2-3 years.

My 2016 S75 hit 130kw today for a hot minute at about 20% SoC. Your experience is not common or normal.

Wow! Glad I got a 2018 Model 3, I am at 112,000 miles now and I still get to see 1020 MPH charging for a few minutes when I stop at a v3 Supercharger at the bottom of the batt. I am sure my charging will slow down some day, but it hasn't happened yet. Though, perhaps it's years and not miles that makes the difference and I have just jinxed myself and will be seeing a dramatic slow down just as you all have only 3 years behind you.

How’s your degradation? Our P3D has degraded nearly 12% over 48K miles with a fairly low DCFC/AC ratio.
 
I have the LR RWD, originally came with 310 miles of range, then got a software update the next year that bumped it up to 325, but I don't charge to 100% often and I don't remember seeing 325, maybe ever. I have been checking my range now as I recently hit 100,000 and I am in the 299-302 range depending on the day.

Down to around 270 out of 310.
 
Ok...Tesla just answered to my SC request with the following (translation from French):

"With a recent sw update (2019.20), Tesla updated the charging curve from certain vehicles that can result in a small decrease of maximum charging power. The global time from 10% to 85% it's not significantly changed, but only the maximum miles (or km) per hour is slightly reduced. This update is protecting the battery and improves it's longevity. The supercharging performances are not a technical specification and they are not covered by the warranty. They and are not a battery replacement reason"

This is such a BS when charging time increased by 50% or more between 10 and 85%.

Temp outside was around 15 degrees celsius and was after a 378km drive, battery temp on arrival was 40 celsius.
Even if the fans started full blast, the louvers were shut. Should I make Tesla test them?

This is a curve like the pre-nerf (mid-2019).
What did you do or what has changed on your car?
We had a 30' drive sunday and needed a short charge at the SuC. I saw the car preconditioned the battery all the time. At arrival, at 30%, the car got around 70kW, then going down following basically %SoC+kW=100.

So, if you know the cure, please share :)

I wish I had the solution…
This was just a 4h drive and the initial SuC was broken so we got redirected to the next one where we arrived at 4% SOC with careful driving for the last 60km as it was in the mountains between NH and ME. Driving on the limit would have required towing :)
