    Huge parked battery consumption

Update: got someone to go round and disable Smart Summon and it's back to normal now. I had no idea a next to useless feature would have that much effect and the car has been sitting at home for 2-3 months so had not come up before. Thanks @MorrisonHiker.

    Huge parked battery consumption

Thanks. I have killed the App on the phone and switch it on once after 24 hours to check and hey presto the drop is 8% - deliberately not checking to try and get the car to sleep. I have not actually had sentry mode on since I left it (and did not turn it on when I parked) so it's not that. I...

    Huge parked battery consumption

Just seeing if anyone has some ideas - I have a 2020 S Long Range that I have parked at the airport while I am away for 5 days. It's consuming 8% of the battery per day at the moment and I have no idea whats causing it. I have disconnected (deleted tokens) from any monitoring bar my phone app...

Confusion on non-Tesla charging in France on Supercharger

So quick check on Supercharger costs for non-tesla users in France: No subs - 55c/kwh Sub 12.99/month and 37c/kwh Seems to vary by a few cents depending on the charger.

Confusion on non-Tesla charging in France on Supercharger

Interesting, I was using a UK sub in France last year and thought it came out at .35/KwH with a 17.99 per month but I'm going to go back and check that. Hyundai were billing at .25/KwH through Ionity - not sure thats still the case though. Given French wholesale prices have tripled I can't see...

Confusion on non-Tesla charging in France on Supercharger

Question of quantity I guess. The monthly Ionity fee gets you, in France, approx 10c per KwH cheaper than Tesla - you'll need to be doing a decent mileage to cover the subs cost but not outrageous. If you have a deal with another non-Tesla car manufacturer it may be as much as 20c per KwH...

Confusion on non-Tesla charging in France on Supercharger

I guess thats why the prices in France have ramped up so much in the last 12 months - I think 0.24 to 0.42 since I bought a Model S at the end of 2020. I hate to think what it costs without a Tesla - price seems difficult to find. I've pretty much stopped using superchargers recently - ionity...

    Verizon Supercharger

Happened to stop at the Vierzon (France) supercharger yesterday (It's got a couple of handy restaurants) - seems Tesla went large and has 36+ stations installed there now. Not quite the largest in Europe but an impressive sight.

POLL: vibration felt when slightly accelerating refresh Mode S Plaid or LR

Mines a Sep 2020 LR and I started get the vibrations at about 7k miles. Took it in and they replaced the front half shafts (4 days in the workshop) no questions asked and it was very smooth after. However, another 5k miles in beginning to feel the vibration again I think - will give it another...

Charging issues after 4 weeks parked

The charger is fine with my other car and the internal charger reported all 3 phases working fine on that car. It seems 4 weeks sitting has caused something to degrade somewhere thats causing an issue with the on board AC circuits. A Supercharger uses the DC circuit which completely bypasses the...

Charging issues after 4 weeks parked

I have left my 2020 S parked for 4 weeks (dropped from 80% to 60%) and tried to charge it yesterday. Oddly the charger (3 phase type 2) gave me a No ground error and the car refused to charge. So I tested the charger on my other car - ran without a problem. Tried a mains charger and no joy...

Why does the battery discharge while plugged in?

I have found the vampire drops considerably if you unplug after charging. I was getting about 2% a day leaving it plugged in, it's under 1% if I unplug it.

    Model s Half shafts

Just in case anyone is keeping score My September 2020 Model S Long Range was developing a small shudder at 9k miles. Took it in and Tesla eventually admitted that the half shafts needed replacing which they are doing. Not really great after 12 months and pretty low mileage.

Please school me on supercharging issues

Note that I have found that leaving the car plugged in all the time increases the idle consumption from about 0.5kwh/day to 2kwh/day mainly, it seems, as it prevents the car going to sleep.

3 phase charger but Tesla only uses 2 phases

What was really useful for me is my charger gives me a phase by phase read out every second - so I can see exactly what was happening as the Tesla display was hopeless. Also a quick double check on another car to make sure the circuits were good. Tesla did manage to diagnose remotely, jjust...
