How long one has to wait to get the V9?

I hated the UI changes in the last major update (was that V7?). You know what? After a few weeks I realized I liked it. We are not wired to like people changing UIs for us. But once we have retrained our own neural networks it rarely is not worth it (I still remember the complaints about...

How long one has to wait to get the V9?

This is most certainly the case. I was complaining that I wasn't getting V9, and realized I had changed my WiFi password at home and hadn't updated the cars connections. After I reconnected both to WiFi, my two Teslas received the update within one hour. I doubt that was a coincidence.

Upper Rear Link Build (Reduces rear camber to improve tire wear)

Anyone knows of adjustable rear upper control arms for a Model X (2016, P90DL)? It's eating ties like crazy and if I drive on anything but very low the front axle shimmy is too noticeable on hard acceleration, while if I ride on low or very low I'm riding on the inside edges of the tires. Ideas...

    these cheap tires worth it?

The folks bashing the Nankangs may or may not be right about them, but the fact that Michelin cannot make a tire that lasts even 10k miles on a properly aligned car driven carefully is disgusting and feels like a scam. I switched to Toyos today, will report back.

How do you replace Model X wiper blades?

I was having some issues with my wipers, thought they were worn out but upon inspection I discovered they were improperly mounted. The blade cover is supposed to be mounted on four pins on the edges of the mounting structure and only two of them were properly inserted. Removing and reinserting...

    knocking/rattling noise

If you hear knocking, maybe you need to move up to higher octane fuel. OK, now seriously, having had my MS for four years and my MX for one, I have some experience with noises. In most cases it was nothing. For example, a right side rattle I thought was on my passenger's door on my MX turned out...

    Firmware 8.0

Based on the time difference between EAP releases and releases on non-EAP cars (I have one of each, though I am no longer in the EAP on either) I think you are right. If I report a blocking bug there may be enough time to fix it or delay the release of the version, but for regressions or other...

    Next gen Roadster

On one hand, I don't think making a transmission is so hard nowadays. Yes, the torque and instant acceleration makes it difficult, but with proper electronics you can adjust motor speed on the fly to match gear speeds (and even actual angle) so they do not cause impact. It has all to be designed...

    Next Gen Roadster concept rendering

Well, it depends. If they want to do a roadster, something along those lines would not be bad (though such a long trunk doesn't make much sense technically speaking). Also, the seats are sitting too low to use the same flat battery system as the other cars, they would need to carve out holes for...

First 'flawless' Model X made on 4/29

Weird. I got my X two months ago and I am still waiting to have any issues. I must have been lucky (unless he refers to the rear seat recall).

    Model S Software/Firmware wishlist

Text to Voice works just fine in both my old Model S (an early model) and my Model X, so I am pretty sure this is a problem with your phone (I'm using a Windows Phone, but it also works on an iPhone).

    Model S Software/Firmware wishlist

A very simple but I think meaningful improvement: For those with parking sensors, why do we have a graphic display of where the sensed object is but not an audible indication? We have over six speakers in the car, so making the sound indicating object proximity come from the direction in which...

How does Model X drive compared to Model S?

I've had an S for three years, and now have an X. It is difficult to compare both as my S was a non-D, non-P, and the X is a P90D, but I can say that handling between the two is remarkably similar. Other than the extra acceleration and the improved noise, I could not tell with my eyes closed if...

Risk of autopilot being used for nefarious purposes

I was chatting with my brother about my new X and he made a comment that worried me. What if a terrorist organization decides to use a self-driving car as a car-bomb? Yes, autopilot cannot be used to deliver a bomb today, but in the near future that will be possible. I think it may be possible...

WARNING: I rear-ended someone today while using Auto Pilot in my brand new P90D!

If what you say is true, then one should always be braking at the same time as AP would, making AP useless.
