Solution to carrying the spare tire

I don't doubt a spare tyre fits in the vault, but its going to be tight under the bed for space to fit a full size spare behind the rear drive unit and in front of the rear bumper. I really hope it does tho.

Will you be able to access the underside of the bed

From what I can tell from some CAD modelling, the Model S battery pack only reaches to the back of the cab. The floor on the CT is at least two cells high though, so it could be shorter. So there is some room between the battery and the rear drivetrain for tanks, if they don't put something else...

Did the prototype truck have power windows?

I noticed that whilst playing with the CAD model the windows actually need to rotate inwards around the bottom window seal whilst moving down. Otherwise currently with the angle they are on they would stick out the bottom of the steel door. Not sure how you do that with a straight window, might...

Building a home in the wilderness with this vehicle.

@coleAK Most household PV panels have open circuit voltages of over 32V, not 15V, and most decent solar inverters can handle up to 1000V DC as a input from PV panels in series. You most definitely don't need to go down to 12V DC first from solar and then back up to AC. There are also heaps of...

Cybertruck Firetruck - Can it help in Aussie Fires?

@SSedan EM said the CT weighed as much as a F150 in the reveal. I'm not as much concerned with its own weight as much as the CT ability to shift more weight and therefore water in comparison to what we have atm. A CT could easily carry 2x the water of our "ute" fire appliances. I am not...

Cybertruck Firetruck - Can it help in Aussie Fires?

@SSedan @ThomasD Thanks for the links but none of those vehicles are available, or will become available in Australia. Let alone be affordable. Just as an example a F150 can't be had for under USD$100k here. We pay $30-40k just for the driving side conversion. The CT is coming to AU and...

Why is more motors better for the average truck consumer?

I don't think "gear ratios" is relevant with primarily linear torque curves in well designed electric motors, they perform just fine without gears, particularly so if they only have a limited operating speed as they would in a CT, rather than say a Roadster . (That's why the Taycan has a 2...

Cybertruck Firetruck - Can it help in Aussie Fires?

For many years, Australia, as well as many other nations and states, have been struggling to fight fires with mobile ground assets. Most of the vehicles used are converted commercial trucks and pickups, that have limited off-road, or in particular poor sand driving ability in the bush. They also...

Why will you need a Cyber Truck?

EM said the rear bed will have HVAC and possibly access from the cab too. The shepherds (aren't they great dogs! We have 2) will have heaps of space in the back bed under the cover in heated and cooled comfort. Just need to figure out a safety/restraint system for them.

    Cybertruck design/features

I'd assume the 240V outlets will have a floating earth because the CT is mounted on rubber tyres. This means you will need to short two cables for power to flow, and not just one like on a household circuit, where the second circuit cam be through the ground. I'd also say the 240/110V outlets...

Charging off of Truck's 220 outlet

Cook when the sun shines. No batteries required. Vaccuum cooking works. Cooking is a function of air pressure not just temperature. Sucking a vaccuum uses less energy than heating. Doesn't have to be for everything but it does lower the energy used overall. Slow cooking up to 100C can be done...

    Actual length?

Yeah would be better if is was straight on the rear seat wall as well as shorter overall. Wheelbase compromises ramp over and turning circle. A full height 2m (6.5ft) bed would be great, especially for a camper on the back, for a full length sleeper, but I have a version where I made the...

    Actual length?

From the Tesla CT reveal video screen behind the car. Wiki page has details too. I expect the CT to be some 6" shorter according to EMs tweet, but retain interior space and bed size of the prototype. It won't be longer. Theres more discussion on the shortened version here: Elon: We can reduce...

Will the Cybertruck Be able to tow a 5th Wheel?

@Saghost Lol true. I am wondering though if its possible to design a trailer in such a way that it either improves or at least keeps the same drag co-efficient.

    Actual length?

@keeny I can confirm the current CT length is as advertised and the same as a 5.5ft bed F150 at 231.9". I've redrawn the CT on CAD using othorgonic photos from different directions and they all meet up with the dimensions given. It is rather silly to assume Tesla would advertise a vehicle with...
