    Post Your Tesla Solar Layout

Yes, I have a big tree out in front (shading from the south 😢), but that shouldn't affect the east facing group at all, and would only affect SOME of the west and south facing panels. I'm hanging my hat on the sentiment here that the Tesla projections are usually low 🤞.

    Post Your Tesla Solar Layout

Thanks. I'll make sure this is how they set it up (site survey is next week). And in fact, since there should be 4 MPPTs available, I'll ask for the two west facing to be on different ones, since there's a large tree in the front yard that will shade the group of 6 at certain times of the day...

    Post Your Tesla Solar Layout

Here's my proposed layout (north is up). Tesla says the estimated year 1 production is 9110 kWh I'm concerned with having panels facing in three different directions. I assume I'll get the Tesla inverter - does "four maximum power point trackers" mean that it can handle this well? Is 9110...

Tesla now repairing MCU1 with a new Tegra card for less than $500

Has anyone had any luck getting this done preemptively under warranty? I'm currently trying. I requested the service and they asked for a date when the MCU was having trouble so they could review the logs. I gave them that and they changed from a mobile visit to a SC visit with an estimate...

    iPhone Music Auto Playing

I had a similar (albeit, temporary) experience. I had an MCU2 Model S loaner for a period of about 2 1/2 weeks and never had the issue. Issue came back when I got my MCU1 model S back.

Model S HW 2.0 to HW 3.0 Upgrades? (Not HW2.5 or Model 3 upgrades to HW3)

You need to run it on the browser in your car. Type in: teslatap.com/mcu/ Then under "Unit" in the Test Results section it should say MCU1 or MCU2.

Yellow dashed line leads to bricking

Picked up the car this morning (4 weeks later). The problem was a "loose connection between the HV rapid splitter and the HV cables" Both were replaced seems to have solved the issue. They had to get "Tesla engineers" involved in the troubleshooting, and it took 4 weeks, so I guess this is a...

Yellow dashed line leads to bricking

My car is still at the SC :-( Will be three weeks tomorrow. Latest area of interest is "the high voltage system cables between the drive unit and the master charger" Two questions for anyone who cares to answer: 1) any insight on the above area of interest? Could they be looking for a...

Yellow dashed line leads to bricking

Today's update says the engineers think it's CAN issue. Think that means some kind of wiring or signal issue?

Yellow dashed line leads to bricking

Interesting. One difference I see with my situation, is that mine was not related to speed - it's a hard power restriction, regardless of speed. AND, of course it ended up shutting down the car completely :(. I'll be sure to update the thread here with the resolution. I'm scared to death...

Yellow dashed line leads to bricking

Today makes 2 weeks that my car has been in the SC with this issue. Fortunately I got a loaner Model S last week. "Still undergoing diagnostic testing" is what I get from my service adviser. Anyone else ever have a problem take this long to diagnose?

Yellow dashed line leads to bricking

Yes, these are the two main culprits I had in mind as well.
