2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

I read Tesla tends to low-ball trade-ins. I'm sooo tempted. Besides the performance and handling, a welcomed upgrade would be the computer itself. Browsing on my 2020 reminds me of a 56k modem.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

I'm just going to pretend this car doesn't exist. That should keep me from trading up.

All I can say after almost 6 years of ownership

That's what I'm thinking. I'm seeing model S rotors starting around $130 or so. So yeah, I'd look closely at that estimate. I've owned my 2020 M3LR for 4 years (32K miles) and it's been a great car so far. I've had the right side rear tail light replaced for water intrusion and the plastic...

I continue to be amazed at the hatred for EVs

Consumer reports? Are people still taking that joke of a publication seriously? "I got in my car and didn't know how to put it in drive." That's the type of situation that would count as a 'problem' for CR. And I will never forget their high predicted reliability score for the Mach-E well after...

Tesla Tire Repair Kit same as Slime Tire Repair Kit?

Yep. I bought a Slime deluxe tire plugger kit (with the cement) from AutoZone and a 12-volt compressor. I have a plugged tire that's been going strong for almost a year. I picked up a Modern Spare tire kit (comes with a spare and a jack) and I keep the jack, 12-volt compressor, a 4-way wheel...

    NEW Model 3 Highland review!

They are indeed installing roundabouts at many intersections down here in S.FL and the rule is to yield to cars already in the circle. Of course, some don't and try to cut other drivers off, but for the most part, they figure it out. I haven't noticed anyone using their indicators for entering...

    NEW Model 3 Highland review!

I like this update. I think the new front and rear lights and the slight body shape design changes for reduced wind resistance alone make it worth it. I do like the interior and don't care whether there are stalks or not. The only thing that would give me pause is if there isn't a performance...

Out of spec says -"Model 3 is the best!"

If only the 3 was a hatchback. Still, Kyle is right on this one. The MY has its place and I'd recommend one in a heartbeat to those that need the space. My work place is littered with them for good reason. However, the Model 3 is a better fit for my driving style. Ideally, it would be an M3P...

My new model 3 is having constant software issues - did anyone else experience this?

27k miles. Very minor software glitches early on (solved with subsecquent updates), but nothing like your problems. It's been a solid car (knock on wood).

2021 Model 3 B-Pilar trim has come loose exposing wiring bundle

I had this taken care of by a mobile tech when they came to replace my right taillight. The guy literally took 5 minutes to fix it. It was a missing or broken clip (or clips) that prevented the plastic piece from staying in place. No issues since. I'm surprised Tesla is not taking care of this...

Ford’s electric F-150 Lightning just got much cheaper

The CT will bury all these other trucks. A coworker is in line for one. He was one of the early reservations, so hopefully he'll get it sooner than later. I told him to get ready for an insane amount of attention.

MASTER THREAD: Auto Wiper functionality, complaints, praise, etc.

I haven't gone back through the thread (or maybe it was another thread), but someone had mentioned the scroll wheel as a possible option for controlling the wipers. Well, you got your wish, and I'll take it! The geek in me still looks forward to updates like these.

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

Farley admitted they sourced their modules from many different manufacturers without any foresight regarding updates. That's likely why it took them so long to get OTAs out and the process is still messed up with customers having to visit dealers anyway. It's also why there were so many...

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

I think Ford needs to make a reliable EV first. One of most knowledgeable supportive members who was very helpful to their community, has given up with all the problems he ran into. That is not a good sign. He was the last person I thought would have thrown in the towel. Looks and well-aligned...

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

Hyundai and Kia have come a long way. Honestly, if Tesla didn't exist, I would not have a problem owning either. I would surely take one over any Ford in a heartbeat.
