    Tesla Model Y in Australia

Some folks over on Whirlpool saying the order page briefly appeared not long ago, but I definitely can’t see it right now?

Where are you seeing that? I thought that was a brief "bug" where the climate screen from the X/S was shown (which does have vented seats). I can't see anything in the current M3 manual: Model 3 Owner's Manual | Tesla

Could also just be nobody in the queue for that particular combo in WA, as unlikely as that might be. It's an RWD with 19" wheels which isn't the default 18". FWIW my SA contacted me saying they have a cancellation and do I want it, I don't believe it ever appeared in existing inventory.

    Evie EV charging networks

A vaguely tangential question, but what is your strategy when going to a Chargefox unit like this in terms of preconditioning, since in Australia the car doesn’t recognise third party suppliers? Set the nav for Heatherbrae but go to Karuah? Seems like that’d be annoying. Just not precondition...

The LR and P have the same battery, so not surprising really. I guess when the base model changed from "SR+" to just "Model 3" they already took the Ryzen into account for the range?

I heard the pre cooling argument as well, and it’s fine for when you first get in, but 15 minutes into a drive on a hot sunny day and my back is sweaty no matter what I do with the AC. Non-vented seats are ok if it’s a breathable material (the 20 year old Astra I replaced with the Tesla was...

Oh that's the "Old" model 3

Did the M3P get slower? I thought it was just the SR+ / “Model 3”.

It’s January! Start keeping an eye out for those hidden VINs. While I love my car and it’s been fun driving around, and wouldn’t give up my early delivery, I kinda miss that I won’t have the full hidden vin / ship tracking experience. Maybe the next car!

Yeah, definitely just the last dregs of Q4 orders. Anything over 250km from the delivery centre should be eligible for a home delivery. Given how low touch the delivery process is I don’t think there’s much disadvantage?

I don't think people really do photos over there. This was the one I posted to my socials.. Login • Instagram Oh yeah, one other interesting thing.. the delivery centre at Alexandria was a ghost town. Two staff I think, and only 4 cars (plus mine) still waiting to be delivered.

I wrote up my first impressions over on Whirlpool, so rather than cross-posting here you can read them there. TL;DR: so much fun to drive, auto-steer made all my freeway driving easy. Wasn't expecting I'd have trouble connecting to wifi from my driveway. https://whrl.pl/RgnhBh

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

In my parents car on my way now! They called this morning that it’s ready anytime. Rego appeared in Service NSW already. Still about 45 min away. Can see the car in the Tesla app now though, they have it plugged in to a 15A charger. Only at 55%, would get me to my parents and then home with 12%...

Model 3 SR+ MY21 delivery wait times in Australia

Technically yes, but they all arrive in Port Kembla first, and then the WA cars get put on a different car carrier for shipping west.

You’ve got me curious, can I ask why? Big family? Business opportunity? Exciting though!

HYUNDAI IONIQ 5 versus TESLA MODEL 3 | Wheels Australia

Sorry, replying to your older one.. few people at work in our EV Slack channel were keen and managed to snag what they wanted. Apparently AWD were gone in a few minutes, and the rest within an hour. Now they have a who knows long wait until they actually get the car. Someone else already got...
