See? This is what I'm talking about. These chumps sleep with Elon Musk blow-up dolls.

Easy Entry caused rear seat passenger to scream

I didn't want to test that. In this case it wasn't an old woman, but she's probably 70 - in other words, old enough for her legs to bruise easily even if it does stop! As I wrote, now I know about this I'll just be prepared with my hand on the switch to stop the seat sliding. We don't have rear...

I only call morons morons and I only block morons - as I just did. To everyone else, thanks for the replies.

Easy Entry caused rear seat passenger to scream

I now know to be ready to stop it with the seat control when I have a passenger in the rear, and no one got hurt. But it would have been really annoying having to clean up all that blood if her leg had been squashed. Tesla needs to tap into the rear seat sensor and stop the seat from going...

    Wipers won't freaking stop

Again: Tesla set out to reinvent the wheel. Most of the time they succeeded in improving it, but this is one of the misses.

By the way, the latest software has a great feature (at least I only discovered it after the latest software): hit the single-wipe button at the end of the turn signal stem and a windshield wiper panel appears on the touchscreen, where you can adjust the speed.

Ceramic spray yes or no if you park under a birch tree that spews resin?

Update: I switched places with our other car so the Tesla isn't under the tree. That eliminated 75% of the problem. The other 25% is solved until next year - the tree stopped dripping sap for the winter. :)

Voice commands didn't work for a while ("not connected"). Why?

The downside of a car with reinvented wheels is that some of the things the designers tried aren't entirely successful. Voice commands requiring cellular data is one of them, another is excessive reliance on cameras that get obscured easily by condensation. There are far more successes, however.

    Wipers won't freaking stop

I'm still on my first windshield, but it's true that windshields can be wear-and-tear parts.

    Wipers won't freaking stop

The logic on my 2004 BMW is that it has a sensor that processes the data, sends it over the Internet to BMW's cloud processing data center in Munich, where it gets analyzed by artificial intelligence robots that ping weather satellites to determine whether it's ****ing raining... Actually it's...

    That sounds like a bug.

    Wood veneer cracking

If it's out of warranty, you should be able to fill a crack that small pretty easily. Order some Timbermate - that's the good stuff I use for woodworking - and wipe the excess off with a wet paper towel (or better yet blue shop towel). If you get the right color, nobody will know.

    Wipers won't freaking stop

Yeah, I'm just grousing that it wasn't easy to drive in the rain after dark (headlights reflected in raindrops on the windshield), and it should be. I'd be in favor of Tesla redirecting resources (meaning engineers) who are working on self-driving - which is destined to be a failure until every...

    Wipers won't freaking stop

Yesterday I drove in the rain in Los Angeles. The wipers went faster than necessary when we were stopped, and not fast enough to make it easy to see when we were moving. I dunno. You'd think that a car this advanced in so many ways would have basic things together when they've been figured out...

    Wipers won't freaking stop

If it's like the one on my 2004 BMW - which works perfectly, by the way - it's an infra red sensor on the back of the rear view mirror.
