From Tesla FOV, the ROI of enabling this is zero. Building a retrofit program would suck resources away from Model 3 It would bring added ongoing complexity in managing fleet software. A retrofit program would limit the appeal of new stock. It's not impossible, just highly improbable.

The suns glare on my morning commute (280 south / 85 south) over the past two days has rendered AP useless. Here's a photo of the conditions. You'll see on the dash that AP sees no lane markings and AP is unavailable. If my cell phone camera can see the lane markings I don't understand why...

I had the same thing happen again this morning. :( AP was flat unavailable for long periods of time and when I did activate it, it was a drunk driver. I gave up.

Did AP become unusable for anyone else this morning? Drive time around 8-8:30, Bay Area, I-280 south. I think the lighting conditions might have overwhelmed it. I got lots of lane jumping, not being able to see lane markings, etc. Worst AP experience since ownership.

I got a software update notice this morning (and I started install once I parked at work). But on the way to work, the AP felt like it had regressed (serpentine, lane jumping). It's like it had to flush out the fleet-learning data to make room for the software update. Hmm.

Happened to me driving north on a straight section of Hwy 85 near Saratoga. The car spent a number of seconds with the wheels in the left shoulder before pulling the car back into the lane. I've driven that section of road a lot on AP. Never had issues before v8.

The point is that for many people (myself included), the new AP is worse at lane keeping than the previous generation. You can't argue with that.

I updated to the latest 7.x 2 days ago. Is it just me or does auto-steer now need less torque on the wheel to take back control? I always hated how jerky this was - now it's super smooth.
