Alternative Model Y Bike Rack: Tow Tuff Aluminum Cargo Carrier

The spec'd accessory weight limit is 160lbs. Apparently the way the hitch is mounted limits it's torque capacity far below the tongue weight limit.

Alternative Model Y Bike Rack: Tow Tuff Aluminum Cargo Carrier

I hear great things about the 1Up, but it's only practical for up to 3 bikes on the Model Y due to its weight.

    Off topic galore

It's good to see how well the Ford does once they ignore the nav and only use EA chargers. Reenforces my conclusion that the EV to recommend to those who refuse or won't afford to buy Tesla is the Mach-E.

    Best 4 Bike Rack

The model y hitch is only rated to 160lbs accessory weight. 4 bikes on a 110 lb rack will far exceed that. Are you comfortable with that? (I have approximately zero overall tow hitch experience, so don't feel comfortable exceeding the rating by much if at all)

Alternative Model Y Bike Rack: Tow Tuff Aluminum Cargo Carrier

We had at least 1" at all the superchargers, so might be fine in the 3 - just can't promise :)

Alternative Model Y Bike Rack: Tow Tuff Aluminum Cargo Carrier

I suspect that on the 3 you might not clear the curb at some superchargers to back in. Not sure how the mounting height will compare.

Alternative Model Y Bike Rack: Tow Tuff Aluminum Cargo Carrier

After a ton of research and thinking, I purchased the Tow Tuff Aluminum Cargo Carrier with Bike Rack ( https://smile.amazon.com/Tow-Tuff-TTF-2762ACBR-Aluminum-Carrier/dp/B00PXNC7K0 ). Reasons for my purchase: * Light for a tray rack (48lbs vs 42lbs Hollywood, 82lbs Kuat) * Short for a 4-bike...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Just got back from a 1000 mile road trip in the Model Y 7 seater, with 2 adult and 2 kid bikes on this rack: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00PXNC7K0/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_NR09V1K73FWA7M60X9KV We were able to back in to every supercharger with a few inches to spare. Only trailers or bigger...

I love Elon, but think these calls will be overall improved by his absence. Drew and Zach are much better communicators. I'll miss the vision stuff he contributes is all.

Radar deleted on all new Model Y and Model 3. Is FSD worth it?

No radar units available. It was either ship fewer cars to customers, hurting both the company and the customers who want the cars, or push forward at Tesla speed and let the certification and 100% feature parity come later.

Radar deleted on all new Model Y and Model 3. Is FSD worth it?

It seems like the timing of radar removal was accelerated uncomfortably to avoid shutting down production for lack of parts. That said, it was also clear that they were going to do it eventually. I expect the end result to be a better system than with radar, even if it takes a few weeks or months.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The whole point of buying the BTC was to hold it as a long term hedge against inflation. They means potentially opportunistically buying or selling small amounts to manage that hedge, but not trading or selling for short term profits. Master of Coin would be delinquent in his duties if he sold...
