That can be a strong feeling. I once took a $35,000 USD loss on a house in less than 2 years. My Pixel 3 phone was $899 and a few months later it was $200 less and now, a few months later $200 less than that. I guess it is always a gamble in buying, I just hope what I bought comes to fruition...

OP here . . . I see the $5,000 as the cost for the new computer, not necessarily for the software upgrades. I guess I should price out a new car compared to the car I bought and see what the difference is to find out if $5,000 is too expensive.

Yes, I do. I love enhanced autopilot and use it all of the time. My motivation for buying full self driving now is to avoid a price increase later. Which Elon Musk has stated on Twitter.

Yep, the possibility of a later price reduction has me on the fence. I think back, tho, to my first Macintosh SE/30 purchase, with software and printer was about $5k . . . in 1989. That was a good investment in my future. Not sure where this purchase might lead me! :D
