    Lifetime Average Wh/mi

    340wh/mi 2021 Plaid, 20's in winter, 21's in summer 45k miles

Thinking of selling my plaid and going back to 2020 P100d

2 main reasons. I can't deal with the lack of stalks and the reduced range. The Plaid is my 3rd S, got each right when they refreshed. 2016.5, then Raven, now Plaid. I also have owned as 2nd vehicles, Y & 3. I've taken a road trip to FL 8 times, every year since 2016. Here's what I came up...

Did Model S Plaid just have range downgraded by 37 miles?

My plaid has never made it 300 miles. Range is worse or equal to my old 16 p100d

Did Model S Plaid just have range downgraded by 37 miles?

I'd want more detail on that. I've never even hit 300 miles with my plaid.

    Model S Plaid range discussion.

Right now trying to drive normal I'm getting 310 watts/m Very disappointing. It has ranged from 310-400+ since I got it 500 miles ago

    Model S Plaid range discussion.

Range is awful on the plaid. My 3rd S. 100DL, 100DL Raven, Plaid 19". Raven was a noticeable improvement from my first. Plaid is not good. I got it with 19's and then switched to 20's with EV tires that got me good range on the Raven. Right now trying to drive normal I'm getting 310 watts/m and...

Model S range and interior update imminent?

My guess is that the 'refresh' is pretty minor. Lots of small changes. I think the intention is to prepare for the Plaid which will use new cells and a 3 motor design. They prob needed more fender room for hub motors so they put the fenders out a little. USB C if they haven't possibly dual pane...

    Performance range increase

My suspicion is that this is all due to thermal management of the battery with the new heat pump. You could use the heat pump to thermally manage the battery keeping resistance low and thus increasing range. It would explain why the Y had more range than the 3 initially, why the 3 increased...

12V battery. "Will I ever buy another Tesla? Guess."

The Ohmmu battery is a good buy unless you bought an old used Tesla and can't afford one. It lasts longer, you have peace of mind, farther range, more reliability, better handling/braking, etc. These differences are small but people are emotional not logical. It would seem you pay over $1000...

How to prevent chips on windshield

Drove my 2016 S for 3 years, no issues. Got a 2020 S in Chicago, on way home got a chip (3 hr dr). Went back to fix it, nightmare service experience.... On way home new one chipped. Same drive home.

I traded my Tesla for a Lexus

I understand the decision and there are many compromises to owning a Tesla. Service being my main complaint of late. Maybe followed by interior noise. The only thing I would say is that the Tesla you upgraded from was an old one. I agree about the many luxuries you upgraded going to the LS500...

    12v Battery Question

Absolutely. We're talking about speculations and in that game, all we can do is go on the data we have. It's foolish to speculate something is bad or good in a court of ignorant opinions. When you google, Amazon, forum search the Tesla 12v battery you'll find 2 things. 1. There are zero...

    12v Battery Question

I am the guy referenced in that (sue Tesla) thread. I am still using the same Li Ion battery. Tesla gave me a hard time resealing my window because I had that battery in there. Hardly a bash on the battery, more on Tesla. The 12v battery does not have the same charge/discharge loads as the main...

    12v Battery Question

But the point is YOU stated 'several' reported issues. Surely if you said that, you can back it up with ONE? There are countless posts of people with problems with their OEM lead acid battery and they are only made to last ~5 years so that's the benchmark. So where are the issues you're...
