In Texas it’s charged by minute. 0.24/min membership, 0.32/min w/o. Regardless of charging speed. 0.12 and 0.16 if the plug’s max capacity is below 90KW.

Texas 75th percentile gas price in recent 20 years: $2.90/gal M3LR consumption: City 3.5mi/kWh, Hwy 3mi/kWh, Comb 3.25mi/kWh. Avg electricity price for charging (of any kind): $0.18/kWh M3LR is actually just 52 combined mpg-e, 56 city, 48 highway. Not something like 120+!!!!!!

I’d rather use EA, equivalent to 19/kWh for 5-90%, or 25/kWh for 30-90%. Worse than 17/kWh 0-100%, but no need to be “early birds”. :)

Tesla treats Model 3 as 30mpg and Model X as 22mpg when calculating gas savings So if MX eqv. to 25-30mpg that's not bad

I guess San Antonio has the similar issue as Temple, TX. S.A. has around the same percentage of EVs as Houston, but Houston has much much more superchargers than S.A.

What does that mean?

San Antonio has around the same EV percentage as Houston (0.58% vs 0.61%), but why there's a lot in Houston but only 3 in SA?

Some Texas s.chargers are 46-48c/kWh during noon-9pm, 23-24c/kWh off peak. This is good. Assume 3.5mi/kWh, 24c/kWh is 6.85c/mi. That’s equivalent to: 1) 40mpg @ $2.739/gal, or 2) 30mpg @ $2.059/gal (b/c so few $50K+ gas cars could do better than 32mpg, and 2.059 here is probably 89#, then...

Hehe. My energy app says I did avg 230wh/mi, which is equivalent to 113% EPA mile range. 113%! EVEN BETTER THAN EPA!!!! But I always get only 70-82% EPA (vs 113%) Hehehehehe. :)

What is the range of M3LR (EPA 358mi) @ 75mph with AC on? I've heard a wide range of answers from 230mi to 290mi.

OK, the average mid-grade price over 2000-22 is $2.56/gal => 9.14c/mi (assuming 28mpg comb.), only very little more than 8.25c/mi.

33c/kwh * 5.71/8.25 = 23c/kwh. So if the sc price is below 25c/kwh, it *could be* OK.

The gas cars around the same price as Tesla usually have a gas mileage about 28 mpg combined. The cheapest mid-grade gas prices in the past 10 years in Texas was $1.60/gal. This converts to 5.71c/mi. (c=cents) The supercharger costs seems being increased a lot this year, around 33c/kwh, and...
