    Supercharger - Laurel, MD

I parked here at lunch. They seem to be enforcing the 80% limit. Moving the slider on the app would reset itself back to 80% after a minute or so.

At delivery: my car has error messages

The service center is on top of it. They will resolve any problems before turning the car over to you.

I emailed Tesla about Spotify...spread the word!

Personally, I err on the side of not asking for too much at once. At least Spotify already exists in all the cars, it's just not activated in the US and Canada.

Used vehicle warranty (from Tesla) - 6 months?

Oh dear. Please keep us informed on this situation. Many used MS owners like myself will want to know the outcome.

    Charginh Amp for battery longevity

Plug it in every night so you make a habit of it. A plugged in Tesla is a happy Tesla. Setting your limit to 80% is fine, but the number you set it to is really based on your needs. I drive 60 to 80 miles per day and setting the limit to 80% works well for me.

    Supercharging Max

This is on a P90D, but close enough I suppose.

Two Drivers, One Car: Access Differences Between Accounts

I think you just answered your own question. Think of your wife as having admin privileges, and you just being a user.

    Wish I had an ICE

    Ahh, that makes more sense.
  9. ckoval7

    Wish I had an ICE

No buildings near by to take refuge in? Personally, I would have opted to grab a snack and use the restroom. Doing that with three little ones means the car would be done charging by the time you got them wrangled back up.
  10. ckoval7

    Charginh Amp for battery longevity

It's such a low current to the individual cells, that even the full 48A won't impact battery longevity. Just don't go crazy supercharging on a daily basis, you'll be fine.

    Quick road trip thoughts

I find that planning for 2 hours of driving between SC stops works well, both for the car and the driver. I stopped worrying about the range, and just make sure I have a high enough SOC when I leave the SC.

Get rid of the ridiculous filters...

Are you posting from your workplace? If so, stuff like that might be filtered out on your end.
  13. ckoval7

No more P100D badge on newest ModelS Performance with Ludicrous package.....? Why?

They got rid of badges a few months ago. It's not the "Long Range", "Standard Range", and "Performance". If you don't have "Ludicrous" on your screen, you don't have the option.
  14. ckoval7

Is it beneficial to periodically charge to 100% SOC

There is some number over 90% (I think 93%, but don't quote me) that triggers the BMS to re-balance the cells. Other than that, no real benefit.

    TeslaFi or other datalogger...

Honestly, if my last car had that data available I would have gladly horded all of it.
  16. ckoval7

Delivery delayed due to complete batter replacement - risks/issues?

Myself and many others have had their HV battery replaced (though not on a brand new car before delivery) and haven't had any issues with rattles or other things being put back together correctly. It sounds like they're on top of things, get the car when it's ready, and enjoy your new ride.
  17. ckoval7

    TeslaFi or other datalogger...

As soon as you have app access to the car, you can start logging data. The data loggers can only collect on live data, they won't have anything historical. FYI, you can use my username as a referral on TeslaFi to get an extra two weeks on the trial.

    Supercharger - Hanover, MD

Finally, a charger I have the ability to check on and provide updates for.

    PLUGGED IN AND LOSING CHARGE?

Another note, if you have scheduled charging turned on, it won't start charging again until your scheduled charge time.
  20. ckoval7

FSD Use Case 1 - Single Lane Bridge

Another edge case I often wonder about, and seems to be a common scenario here in MD: You're second in line at a stop light. The light turns green, but the driver in front of you is too busy texting to notice. Will the self driving car honk, or will it sit indefinitely behind the distracted...

Just had a Tesla charger installed. Charges are going at 12 amp at 246 volt?

There is a rotary switch inside the wall connector to select the correct amperage. It's possible that was not set correctly. The switch is mentioned in the wall charger manual.

Car Needs Service, Power Reduced -- power usage looks wonked

That looks pretty normal for spirited driving. Another thing that causes a spike is having the HVAC system run (whether to cool you or the battery) while you're not moving. Power is measured in Wh/mi, and if you're using several hundred Wh while going zero miles, it has to take that power you...

    Custom front grille

It looks like the car has a mustache.
  24. ckoval7

Anyone getting close to 150 kW?

How long were you driving before you go to the charger? The battery needs to be pretty warm to get those speeds.

    Supercharger - Boonton, NJ

This will be a good charger for my trips to New England. I hope it doesn't take years to install.

Tesla forced an update of my P85D to 2019.16.2

I'm still running Windows XP and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) because the thought of a UI change is far scarier than the threats behind the scenes. In all seriousness though, since 2019.16.2 they seemed to have fixed the browser at least. I still miss the green lines for traffic, and the ability...

Second Failure of AutoPilot: Identical Location (2019.8.3) - Radar Failure

I've had this happen in other tunnels. I think AP relies on reliable GPS data, which it can't get when it's going through a tunnel. The car auto-reboots the AP computer due to the prolonged signal loss. This is just my theory though.

    Charging at 144 kW - 494 mph

    I'm running 2019.12.1.1. No ludicrous.
  29. ckoval7

    Charging at 144 kW - 494 mph

This is the fastest I got in my 2015 MS. It was a P85D, but it has a 90kWh pack in it now
  30. ckoval7

    reports of 150kW ?

Fastest I've ever seen in my 2015 MS. Probably the fastest I'll ever get.

    Supercharger - Fayetteville, NC

Great supercharging stop. Updated charging rate apparent on my 2015 MS. I'm the only car at the site as of my arrival.

New software, new bugs and new stupid "features"

You can't open the charge port with a gentle push on the door?
  34. ckoval7

    Stalls blocked by Tesla Owner

I doubt Tesla will be able to do much about this, since they don't even remove ICE vehicles from chargers. The property owner can have them towed, but that's a rare event in the case of ICEing as well. This is not different than using a gas pump as a parking spot though, but not many people...

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

It's always been that way. I wish they would bring back green for clear roads.

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

Teslafi is showing a mass rollout of 2019.12.1.1 to AP1 cars. Can anyone confirm they fixed Insane+/Ludicrous+ and confirm that launch mode works?

I love the Model 3, just don't love any color options...

Is silver still an off-menu option that you can get by talking to a rep rather than placing the order online? Or maybe that's just for the MS/MX

    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

I'm on 18.50.6 and it's working well for me.

    Won't shift into D or R

Did you lift your butt out of the seat at all? I had my car freak out from that when I went to reach for something that slid across my dash. It put itself in park, then wouldn't go back into gear. This happened to me at a stop light.

    IC-7100 Ham Radio Install

You've got me tempted to move my FT-857 or my FT-1900 from my Mazda to my MS. de K3CPK

    Supercharger - Rocky Mount, NC

I'm charging here now. Someone really needs to fix the parking lines! I feel like an arse parking in between spots just to get the plug to reach my car.

The Tesla Network - How Would You Participate?

In my day to day life, I wouldn't participate at all. If I were out of town and found myself looking for a taxi/ride share, this would likely be my first choice.
  43. ckoval7

    Supercharger - Annapolis MD

Supercharging in general sounds terrible when towing.
  44. ckoval7

    New P3D vs Demo P100D

Glad you got out of that. Personally, I wouldn't buy a Tesla from anyone but Tesla Inc, or maybe a verified private party. Dealers always seem to have Teslas with an accident reported on the car fax.
  45. ckoval7

"Car May Not Restart" service message, no kidding

I had the same thing happen to my MS. I was about by go out one morning, and got that error. I contacted Tesla and they scheduled a tow truck without hesitation. It took them about a week to get a new battery pack. The techs at the service center said it was a sensor failure.

    Software Update 2019.12.x

This is really disappointing. I was looking forward to the browser update. That would have been the only good thing for people with older cars. I even hear that the change from "Max Battery" to "Insane/Ludi+" breaks things. I guess I'll ignore any update messages from now until I hear people...

Advice needed: Chrome Delete Where the Mirrors Attach to the Body

TMC Folks, I don't know much about doing chrome deletes, so I could use a little help. While normally I'm not a fan of chrome delete, I'm considering doing a chrome delete of the arm that attaches the mirrors to the rest of the vehicle. I often find myself in a situation where the sun reflects...
