Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Not lambasted, I think you (like a lot of analysts) assumed 4680 would just be eventually "turned on". Battery day made it VERY clear it would be an iterative process that would take 5-6 years to hit targets. That's what those of us disagreeing with you are focused on - we are not expecting it...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Agreed. Simple example - one that should ring home to the users on this forum - if the USA had been in communism or socialism for the past 100 years you would have an agrarian society, and the following things you enjoy and take for granted today would never have existed: 1) EVs 2) cell phones...

    Elon & Twitter

Probably going to be an initial test phase to see what avenues provide best ROI, then a re-focus of additional revenues to those areas. Elon's not a stupid businessman, despite what some here want others to believe. He will have the proper paper trail created to prove whatever avenue they end...

    Politics - Quarantine Thread

In all fairness, Microsoft has a long history of abusing other companies APIs and software licenses, then fighting it in court. Not picking a side here, but MS is far from a company with a pristine history.

This has never ended well for those suing about "unintended acceleration". Particularly with Tesla. The amount of data uploaded to the mothership on accidents is astounding. Tesla will be able to disclose in court video from all cameras of the incident, how much the guy weighs, how hard he...

It's not like these people don't know this up front. You want a Tesla lease, you get no buy-out option. Period, nuff said. There is no slight of hand, not deceptions, it's just how Tesla leases operate. Don't like it, don't lease a Tesla.

Awesome. There should be enough F-16s in Europe to make a good first wave. And I'm sure the US is looking forward to back-filling those with F35s. Win win.

Elon's dealing with this issue was a master-class for anyone in management. "OK, we'll look into this. Better yet, how about we place a webcam on the mine and let everyone just see for themselves if there is any child labor." I'm sure there will be splitting of hairs on the implementation...

No no. Not the MSM "reports". But the ACTUAL original source. Because all I saw was Elon call him someone that "hates humanity". No anti-semitic slur, etc.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Would be curious if you leave TSLA what you replace the investment with. Even if I hated Elon (which I don't), I can't find any current company as well run with nearly as large a TAM to replace the investment with.

Proof of anti-semitism please. Because in the CNBC yesterday he denied this specific claim, and called it out and listed how his views have been pro-semitic. I think you are watching too much MSM, should probably watch interviews of him instead (i.e. go to the source).

Had a safety disengagement this AM. Wife got a nail in a tire on the 2020 Y P. Coming back from the tire shop, wide road in an industrial area. FSD didn't want to split the large lane, I think it assumed it was 2 lanes, and it made a MAD DASH for the right. I'm not sure it would have hit a...

You seem to want to blame Elon for everything financial, yet are completely ignoring the macros. To take your backlog example and counterpoint: Lucid - zero backlog now, accumulating cars on lots Rivian - down from 2 years to 2 weeks backlog Ford F150 Lightning - down from 1 year backlog to ...

    New Powerwall2 Install: Standby Mode?

It won't go to true zero if off. The discharge rate when the battery is at 5% is EXTREMELY low. When ours were installed, they sat off, at 10%, for 6 weeks (waiting for a part to complete install - we were early adopters in 2017). In 6 weeks, they lost 1%.

And see, this beguiles your lack of understanding of the system. Patriot is a system that has been through about 12 different revisions. Gulf war was version 2.0, with an intercept rate of 20-25%. The most recent version has confirmed intercept rates of 90-95% for most missiles, and is...

So, honest question, am I the only one that looked that raw data (did just now)? The number of reported incidents for Cruise is 9. NINE. I've had that many myself in a Cruise vehicle in the past 18 months during my SF trips. Things that literally are listed for those 9 events, I have...

Not a disagree, I just don't see Waymo's solution as either cost-effective or scalable long-term. It's more a proof-of-concept demonstration (which is at least better than what MobileEye has done). Tesla's solution, while funded by FSDb early adopters, has the potential to properly scale up...

What you want isn't what is advertised. And supervision-free rides in Waymo and Cruise are of such short distances, at such low speeds, in such restricted areas, that their practical "value" is minimal. I'll take FSDb over that any day, as it provides me substantially more value on a day to...
