Autocross in a Performance Model 3

I attended a small course autocross event at Sonoma Raceway yesterday with my stock 2019 P3D. Being a very short course with not too many people, I had a chance to do more runs than my body could handle. The car was a champ! This was my third autocross (I'm no expert and this is more "for fun")...

    California Rebate - 2020 Model

Just wait. The 2019 ones haven't even been fully paid out yet. I think they're only paying out the submissions through September before moving onto later months, since there is/was a budget issue.

Front Suspension Knuckle Too Close toTire

Your tires aren't deforming even close to the clearance that's there...even at very high speeds...its totally fine.

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.1 update released with 5% power increase

My older runs were posted somewhere in here as someone asked too. Basically if looking at rolling times, I used to get right around 3.22secs and now i'm getting more 3.15 secs. So I'd say it's about 0.5 seconds faster on average in my experiences.

    P3D horsepower?

Too many variables, honestly. I don't have a strip that I might reliably test on and even then there's a lot of other variables. Attached is an image from when I had V9. I basically could get these figures repeatably so I kept this as a record.

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.1 update released with 5% power increase

Did a bunch of 0-60 runs above 85% SOC, after getting charged up, and seeing consistent sub 3.2 second (with 1 ft rollout) times. Just attached 3 screenshots as samples.
  9. gcmak

    P3D horsepower?

Here's 3 runs above 85% SOC. The gains are there and I was able to do more runs (than those attached) at under 3.2 seconds (if you count roll-out).

    P3D horsepower?

Thanks, edited my post - indeed, it'd be a significant difference if it was 0.1s difference. I should be able to get a few runs in later today above 85%. If not, definitely sometime this week.

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.1 update released with 5% power increase

Some draggy data I took this morning, including one image from when I did the test using V9. Initial testing shows I reliably get 3.40s with the update and on older software I was reliably getting 3.41s. I was only at 60%SOC this morning though and will test again when I can be closer to 90% SOC.

I have the 36.1 update as of this past Friday and the reverse turn signal is back.

    P3D horsepower?

I did multiple runs this morning on my usual testing route. It's not a prepped drag strip etc. From the initial figures compared to what I was reliably getting from V9 of my P3D, I'm reliably getting ~0.01 seconds faster 0-60. I'm going to try again later in the day when warmer with a higher...

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.1 update released with 5% power increase

2019 P3D w/FSD, got my update installed Friday night, drove ~60 miles since in mixed conditions - city/highway/traffic - with the SF Tesla Club. I love it. One pedal parking in both forward and reverse is lovely. The regen amount and progressiveness seems pretty dialed in - can always use some...

    Best door seal kit?

I can't say I get much gunk in the frunk but I can see how the trunk seal could help - despite the fact that we have a very minor lip - though the trunk lid itself does get quite dirty and you can't really just hose it off. The Basenor seals have help to minimize gunk in the door sills though...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Looked through 67 pages of 92 pages of this thread. Didn't find photos of a white Model 3 with Bronze T-S5 wheels. I guess the combo looks bad? Specifically, if anyone has photos of 19x9 T-S5 in Bronze on a white performance 3 on stock suspension, I'd appreciate seeing how it all looks. Thanks!

Need Wheel Suggestions for White Model P3D-

Exact wheel model/combo I'm considering but I'm torn between the Silver or Bronze. The Black looks good, I've just done it before so I want something different. Hoping someone will post some T-S5 Bronze on White Model 3 pics! Did you wrap your wheels in PS4S or another rubber?

PPF (full wrap). Any regrets ?

After a few months with full satin PPF, I'm gunna say...sorta. I think my installer bit off a bit more than he could chew with Satin PPF being something he's rarely worked with since it's less forgiving than clear PPF since stretches, bubbles, etc. are WAY more apparent and it might even react...

    Air recirculate setting

For me, I notice mine is usually on circulate and I get concerned that it stays on circulate when the car is off because it traps in moisture which creates or contributes to the build-up of that fun stinky smell. Happens in ICE cars too. But I hear you guys in certain situations where you may...

    Noise while braking

Turn regen on low and do 5-10 firm stops or slow-downs from above 30mph (can be faster just be safe). No need to trigger ABS but the point is to clear the surface of anything that may have accumulated or picked up. You could also spray down the wheels with a hose to knock anything loose that...

    MASTER THREAD for V10 2019.32.12.4

    MASTER THREAD for V10 2019.32.12.4

Might be location bias, but creep is incredibly helpful for inclines all the way to the very steep 18% grades of San Francisco where I live...and as an added plus, feels smoother for my passengers and me when negotiating with indecisive drivers. Unlike many manual cars I've driven, with those...

Seeking help. Brand new M3 got damaged at service center :(

If you can swing by and speak with a manager, calmly, on site, I hope you'll find a better resolution. V10 - Increased Vampire Drain

Honestly, disabling smart summon standby wasn't enough in my car from looking at the drain history on the Stats app. I have needed to turn off Summon entirely in the car for the drain to reduce back to under 1 mile/hr. since I use Sentry. With Sentry and Summon enabled, i was consistently...

    Driver door rubber squeaking

You can use Gummi Pflege or what I'd try to do first is just a water and a towel and give both your window edges and the rubber seals a good wipe. Do it all the way around the door and the door frame (both sets of seals). Something else you can use to clean/protect is a bit of armor all -...

20 tint on rear window, too dark?

I had the unique opportunity recently to re-tint my rear window (the longest/largest piece of glass on our cars). Condensation between windshield and front facing cameras

Honestly I think in my case its not humidity which is what you're fighting against, which having A/C on (regardless if you're using heat or not) will reduce the moisture within your cabin. The reason sentry helps in cold/dew climates is because the unit/cameras stay warm. I don't think the...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Has anyone run these tires on their model 3? This was quite popular among the hot-hatch folks in VW/Ford and some BMWs....I enjoyed them on my Golf R before I tried the PS4S (which are arguably better but also a few hundred dollars more). I actually preferred these Firestone's on track for its...

    XPEL Stealth Washing/Care

Lots of good responses here. I have Stealth installed (Suntek film) and have used ONR and other methods to wash and it's no problem. Same with using sealants/waxes. Auto park problem

I have problems with the auto park even showing up on the screen to engage it. The few times that I have done it, it gets close to other cars and curbs but nothing that I'd judge that it will actually hit an object/car.

    Trunk water diverter

I saw one in person the other day at a supercharging station. it stood out immediately to me. I wonder if they could have made it less prominent. No turn signal on reverse

I mean honestly...I'm in SF so we more or less have to parallel park at some point or get out of tricky driveways...so having a signal on is kinda necessary even in reverse. Guess they only did their testing in my hometown of Fremont lol.

Rear vs front door unlocking difference

Thanks for the update. My 2019 P3D exhibits the different front/rear opening behaviors but I figured it was "normal". It does take a little education of passengers to push both the button and the door.

Subwoofer? Is that what the hole is for?

Starting June/July 2019 the hole disappeared. My build is July 2019, no hole. Unscientifically, there seems to be less road noise coming from the rear trunk space but also less bass from the woofers. Noticeable difference when seats are folded down vs. up.

Model 3 Performance Wheel Damage at Car Wash

It's usually a sign of rot but Michelins have a tendency to show these cracks which I've been told my tire companies and installers are superficial, since the internal structure is what counts. That said, is the tire potentially weaker against abrasions, potholes, and hard hitting curbs? I...

Do you know what version of software your car is currently running? It'll show on the bottom of your Tesla App. There's one or two versions that have been buggy for people, including myself. Model 3 Performance Wheel Damage at Car Wash

Or slightly narrower width rims would work too or just design the rim differently. There's quite a few things that could be done here. I made the mistake of taking a 2016 A3 with the upgraded wheels (18") to one of those washes with the rails. It'll mess up both the inside and outside of the...

Slight give in brake pedal, intermittently

Is it only happening when its a slight to steep incline? I noticed my car will assist in braking (pedal go softer at a stop) on inclines and brake hold gets activated easily. This doesn't happen on flat surfaces or even declines.

Model 3 Performance Wheel Damage at Car Wash

Surprised to see the sidewall cracking already. Not that it's a safety issue. Will have to look at mine. You also have to be careful if storing those wheels because the'll hit the floor with no protection. Your local tire store will also damage them when they set em down.
