    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

You could - but it would be more expensive as you'd have to buy a 1x32A or 3x16A plug, socket and flex to put in. When you could mount the HPWC next to the isolator and hard wire it in a couple of minutes. Getting an electrician out to add and remove the HPWC when you need to isnt that big of a...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I'm aware of three other Brisbane deliveries for the 16th and 19th and 23rd of September - all P+ As I can tell I should be close to the front of the queue when they get to Brisbane P- deliveries. *Really* hope it doesn't delay the driving holiday I'm planning to start on the 21st.

There is now. But early on the three configs were SR+, Performance, and Performance with Performance Upgrades. LR AWD has since replaced Performance at the same price. Performance cars go a bit faster than LR AWD ones, but are otherwise identical save the DUAL MOTOR badge with red underline...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Note the front plate bracket is already screwed on. Good - it was done in the factory, not by some kid at the store. Bad - no direct attach with tape option - at least doing so won't undo the screw holes.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Yes. Both cars take Type2 AC single phase at 32A. Model 3 can use any Tesla wall connector, destination charger, etc. (Charging Adaptors — TSL43.info covers S and X a little as well)

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

It is my site, yes - and it includes a photo of the 10 and 15A adaptors that are included with the press/demo cars. Its fairly safe to say they will be the same as the cars we'll get. Even the Tesla AU website says you get a 10 and 15A plug - though they do use a photo of the US plugs. The S...

But why not get a 32A circuit installed for the HPWC? Just book the electrician to come mount the HPWC when you get a delivery date.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Makes sense to me, but also if they end up with a car in a spec that doesn't match someone further up the queue you'll still get it. They won't keep it in stock just to honour the queue.

Conversely (by all accounts) sounds great, has quick, rock solid Bluetooth and a nice spot to place the phone where you can see it. And, if you were keen you could mount the phone right in front of you if you wanted Waze, Android Auto or any of that and get a brilliant experience.

M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

Please post more pics when you get it! I have exactly the same car but RHD somewhere at sea in the Pacific. Any chance you could tell me the VIN less the last two digits to compare to the 5YJ3F7EB0KF4882xx VIN I have in my HTML source?

As above, LCT is federal. For EVs it only applies for the value over $75k. So for an SR+ without FSD you aren't paying any.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Very few passenger cars have spares anymore because very few people bother to use them. They just call RACQ (etc). As the tyres are foam lined* a sealant kit won't work either. Again, sealant kits rarely get you going again so their inclusion is of marginal benifit anyways. * At least they are...

Any competent electrician could shorten the long version if you need. In my garage 7.5m leaves a huge coil I don't need.

    P3D- vs P3D+

Yep. Here in Australia the site made it clear that track mode was exclusive to the P3D+. I've ordered a P3D- though. It will be interesting to see if I get it. They have since dropped the P3D- here as well.

There is no need to be precious about your VIN. They are publically listed against your rego. e.g. Check registration status | Transport and motoring | Queensland Government

TapTes has right hand drive all weather mats now. Pressure wash, hand wash, chamois. I, humbly, think PPF is insanely expensive compared to just repairing as needed. Even ceramic coating seems over the top.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

    1. Best option is an SSD HDD from both a capacity and performance perspective. Cheap drives don't work. 2. Supercharging costs 45c/kWh in Australia. You use about 0.16 kWh/km. 3. No Type1 adaptor is included. Read Charging Adaptors 4. I can't speak to this form first hand experience. I don't...

You can make an argument for price... But I'm not sure 37km extra range it much to hold out for. If the grid is changing frequency then that's a fairly biblical problem for the millions of synchronous generators and motors connected to it. And those millions of devices have so much inertia it just doesn't happen.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

This is Jamboree Heights in Brisbane. The dip late Sunday below 240v was testing out my OpenEVSE at 32A into a Model X. My PV (and all that meet the standard I think) turns off at 254v. I'm on single phase.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

You're jumbling up terminology here, in particular it's not splitting a phase. It's rectifying it into DC. There is no such thing as dual phase in Australia. I've reworded Charging Adaptors to better elaborate on the portable three phase options.
  40. one4spl

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Making a portable 3 phase EVSE thats universal and fool-proof is a fairly complex project. You need to make a system so that the EVSE only ever draws the current that the attached dongle supports. JuiceBooster and Telsa do this via RFID or resistors in the dongle to identify it. You can...
