Hey, I like perl! Don’t diss it! Very flexible and powerful. But maybe I’m getting old, php seems to be the thing now, for whatever reason. Or maybe there’s something even newer that grandpa doesn’t know about.
I had to work with Perl 10 years ago administrating a software. They did OO in Perl. Have to say Perl developers have good discipline. Then the vendor moved to Java. Then all hell broke loose. Release new features they broke existing ones. They wrote software without honouring existing business rules.

Doesn't feel any closer for me. It is looking increasingly like earliest September deliveries. SFL Conductor rumoured to be heading to Europe.

It's pretty much confirmed for SFL Conductor. It is a on reservation list for a Panama Canal crossing for August 13.
Grand Quest arrives SFO August 8. So August is a out for RoRo opportunities.

Containers are our only hope.

I was at an EV meet a few days ago and a guy waiting on his Model 3 P was told by his delivery specialist that they are expecting about 600. No indication if that's first shipment or current orders in progress. #UnsubstantiatedRumour

Wait... has anyone actually been contacted by a delivery specialist in regards to their order? I talked to Tesla yesterday and they said they haven't started yet.

Still dont know if NZ/OZ cars will include mats or not..?

based on the rumour I heard, no.

But I am not ordering anything until I get my car.

I bought a cheap set of car mats for $10 so that I have something to put in the car as it sounds like they won't be included. They're reasonably good too for $10.

After that I'll see what the consensus is.

I've also toyed with the idea of making mats - maybe not floor mats but for the boot and frunk (froot?). I've already been to Bunnings and checked out carpet by the meter and nylon strip to sew around the edges. I have a sewing machine and the sewing skills of a six year old so anything could happen.

You may need a carpet overlocker machine though. Normal sewing machines probably aren't powerful enough to pull the carpet in. I did a quick search on the Internet and found a few carpet overlocking services. One does it for $6 per perimeter metre.
