    TACC as a separate option

I have enjoyed TACC feature in my Tesla Model S for a long time.My wife is not ready to give up the steering wheel control to anyone yet while she is driving, but totally appreciates the automatic braking, and maintaining distance while she holds on to the steering wheel. While ModelS owners are...

Tires and Wheels again 19 or 21?!

I powder coated my 19in slipstreams as I wanted to stay OEM and the black on white car always looked good to me. I am getting 21arachnids on referral (up for sale, but not at $3K :-)) and while I love them, I think they are really meant for performance drivers - who need the extra grip for...

COzero dash cam - anyone use this?

Not this, but there was another brand that offered this exact dashcam for AP1 cars and it some members installed and had mixed reviews. Look for dash cam reviews in this forum and you will find the other vendor with the exact same model/look (perhaps same OEM making for both these vendors). I...

ah - really sorry to hear this. Agree with other recommendations to install dashcam - and hardwire so they can record even when parked. I am in bay area and can help you with a model and likely how to get this done - I did it myself with help from a fellow member's email instructions. Has...

New referral 21-inch Archnids for MS for sale

Thanks - I will need to look at the comparables more then :). This is what I see the package is equivalent to: 21-inch forged alunimum wheels, t-sportline sells them for: $5,500 + tax/shipping 4 set of new tires (Michelins staggered): $340/each for front, $390/each for rear = $1500 +...

New referral 21-inch Archnids for MS for sale

Just received the email to claim my referral 21-in archnids for ModelS. I have a poorman's model S (75D), and don't want to further reduce range + just powder coated my 19s to satin black - so want to enjoy them for a while. These forged aluminum wheels are fantastic on the "P" cars to match...

    Powder coating rims

I did my powder coating (satin black) at OC Detailing. Joe is great. Will give you a set of wheels while yours are being done. Great guy and great shop, and they stand behind their work. Lots of teslas in their shop at all times - so you know you are going to the right place. Got my close view...

Two days with Model 3 impressions/review- This is not a mini model S

@SMAlset , I was on the same boat as you - waiting for the M3 invitation letter/email. Guess what? I logged into the Tesla owners page and clicked on our model 3 page, and bang, the front page was the invitation to configure our M3. I went back and checked our emails, nope, definitely no email...

    Warming up Car Battery?

Tesla will be happy to sell you a powerwall to make sure you never run out of juice at home :). Fully agree - Tesla should have had years of knowledge on how to keep the battery in optimum range when plugged in - be it summer or winter, parked indoor or outdoors.

    Warming up Car Battery?

Ah - I should have mentioned, I start charging on my 40A/240V 14-50 at midnight. My usual 60-80mile charge is complete by 3AM-4AM. So it sits for about 3-4hrs before I drive off. I like to maximize the time the car spends at close to mid-level SOC. So when I reach home with about 50% charge...

    Warming up Car Battery?

If you charge your battery to 90% for the overnight charges, I think the battery gets warm enough on its own to give you what you want. Don't have the stats to prove it, but in our milder California weather (low 40s outside in the morning, low 50s in the garage), if I charge to 70 or 80%...

Opinions on window tints - Pearl White 19inch Silver Slipstream

@sumitkgarg , car looks lovely. Congrats. I have the AP1.0 while exterior and went with lighter tints on front windows to make sure cops understand I followed the rules (max California allows is 30% tint - allow 70% light on front windows). Due to recent breakage, when I replaced my rear hatch...

How to add a HEPA filter to your non-Bioweapon facelift Model S!

My take on how the BDW works: "it is designed to "quickly" clean the air inside the cabin, by forcing outside air to come in as fast as possible. In one of their demo videos, Tesla shows that they can clean the air inside the cabin within 2mins. What I believe they are saying is that, even if...

    21” Aracnids vs 19” Slipstreams

hah! Timely thread. My 3rd referral just got their car delivered, so I should be getting my email from referral team for the 21-in arachnids. I just recently powder-coated my 19-in slipstreams to satin black, so don't want to get rid of them so quickly ($800 cost). I will most likely sell my...

2nd owner - Extended Service Agreement

That’s good. I have also read that if a car hasn’t been well maintained, Tesla may deny ESA purchase for that car. And the reasonable way they know the car is well maintained is if the car shows up for the annual maintenances. I have also seen back and forth messaging on whether this is true or...

2nd owner - Extended Service Agreement

not sure this works, but worth a discussion: you could ask current owner to buy the ESA. ESA is transferrable to new owner upon resell (I have seen the ESA contract). Then, you have option to cancel before the 50K/4yrs if you feel you don't need it (I recommend keeping ESA - these are high-gizmo...

    Torklift Ecohitch

I also got mine installed (at a tesla approved body shop) just a couple of months ago. This is quite disappointing indeed. What is your best Wh/mi achieved?

As you rightly said, the ideal temps in California work to provide most of the battery to driving (less for battery temp conditioning). Also, perhaps 75% of my miles are on the daily commutes - lower speeds - better consumptions? Enjoy your P90D. With the recent uncorking, I have now set my...

Yes, Kuat is rated high. Good to see Tesla owners with Kuat. When I saw it in person, I was worried it is too big (more wind resistance?) and with the 4-bike setup, it could lead to a higher tongue weight than recomended by EcoHitch. My local EcoHitch seller said while the 200lb tongue weight is...

    DC DC Failure

Sad to hear the cost associated with this sudden failure! While the mechanicals of an EV look appealing to be less complex, the electrical circuitry are complex and the designs are in their infancy (for this EV industry). I am no more in the camp that EVs are cheaper to maintain than ICE cars...

    2017.48 a774ed8 Is out!

I tried easy entry (rather, easy exit is what I wanted to like) and wasn't quite impressed. The seat moves slowly, AND THEN, the streering lifts up. They don't run in parallel. It is too slow in my opinion to be bothersome. On my 2007 BMW 5-series, the easy-entry was quick and the seat&steering...

Posting from inside camper-mode enabled MS

The one I had plugged into is the 50A NEMA 14-50 plug, just like the ones we have in our garage. The middle one is the 30A plug. RV park owners don't really understand 14-50 or NEMA, but their 50A is the same as the NEMA 14-50 plugs that Tesla owners look for.

Sharing the long promised photos.... One additional input is, if you are a side-sleeper, then bring well-cushioned bedding, the back of the backseats is quite hard and will give you decent soreness on your shoulders in the morning.

    Cold weather charging stats

Good point there @thefortunes. Would be interesting to know if HPWC charge time from 90-100% is the same as AC charging. The taper feels more dramatic on the supercharging because relatively speaking, the first 10-90% was so fast!

    Cold weather charging stats

congrats on your purchase and thanks for posting! You might read from previous posts that charging to 80% is fast, 80->90 slows down quite a bit and 90-100% is a crawl. Your 100D has the max range of all Teslas on the road, so you should be in a good position to charge to 80 or 90% for most of...

I agree with @MarcusMaximus, had all the parts in there (I think that is the case for all facelift MS cars). November delivery of my Model 3

it might make sense for Elon to consider collaborating with a automotive giant to build the model3s.
