So I tried to get my 1.5 PEM off today, since my PEM has been overheating since I had it in for annual service with Javier. So much for letting a "pro" do it. I was progressing nicely until I got to the 13mm bolts that hold the PEM to the batter (one by the pump reservoir and one on the other...

I have a 1.5 so probably have an 80% chance of having the GPS sensor that doesn't have the bug. I was just going to take advantage of the cable being in LA. But for $300+ it's cheaper to but the alternate sensor (if I ever need it)

Just saw the poll stats: interested in the combined Chademo/CCS but would have to cost less than $3k. The Roadster is really just a city car, so this is a nice to have and not a must have. Also: why would we ever pay more than it cost before (when there was no BULK buy)? Given the volume buy...

So I had the car with Javier but he was unable to do the update as my !@#$%@%@$% after-market stereo/amp makes the plug inaccessible. Cheaper to just buy a replacement GPS sensor IF I even encounter the issue, since Javier says that it is really limited to 2.0 cars.

What do people do with the old rotors? Do they fit on a Lotus?

Not worth it at that price. I also assume that this is in addition to installation which will be another $1-2? If the group buy got it below $3k AND we got CCS, then it may be worth considering.

I am also in LA, but if I read this thread correctly, the early versions of the car do NOT have this GPS issue? Any way to check? If I may have the issue, I would otherwise love to try to take advantage of someone in LA having the update cable (do a quick meet & update). Thank you.

Anyone know how to DIY replace the "Trunk 12 V battery"? I have one of those after-market sound systems with a batter in the trunk and while I can see the battery, it seems like I would need to remove the side panel (behind the door) to get to it.

I agree that replacing the radio and maybe the speakers is probably the way to go. Everything else (especially a better amp/subwoofer) is a waste of money, time, and electricity/range ;-)

I replaced the Kenwood in my Roadster with an android car radio which was the best decision ever. It's a pretty complicated process, but it is so nice to have a modern radio!!! If you continue to have issues, then you should seriously consider it.
