    Minnesota Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

Fargo is on the list, but it's in the last batch of superchargers on the map. I'm keeping my eyes open for any activity. I have a few suspect locations near the junction of I29 and I94. The Petro on I94 is at the top of my speculation list at this point. No evidence, just a gut feeling...

    A spooky Halloween in Fargo

Nice story. Glad my meager 110 was more helpful than the charger at the dealership. That's pretty much the same experience most people in Fargo have at this dealership. They're not known for they're hospitality. If they didn't have a monopoly on GM and Nissan vehicles in the region, I suspect...

    Unintended Acceleration Complaint

In the court of public opinion, the nature of the evidence is irrelevant; it's the seriousness of the charge that matters. I may be a conspiracy theorist, but I smell the ingredients of a negative PR campaign. I'm not making any accusations, but the state dealer associations and big 3 haven't...

It was all downhill after the first car. 1979 Firebird Formula (bright yellow attracts the police) 1984 Nissan 720 Pickup, 2-door, manual (seriously, it's a motorized garden cart) 1981 Ford Escort 3 door, manual (could go through brick walls) 1984 Mercury Marquis (not the grand, sexy vinyl...

New Aston Martin Rapide S looks a LOT like the Model S

Chicken or egg, they are both dang nice looking cars and I would clean out the garage for either one. Speaking of lookalikes, anyone ever catch a glimpse of a Kia Optima out of the corner of your eye and think MS? The proportions are definetly not right, but if you look at it quick...

Should the Gen 3 to be a smaller version of the Model S but otherwise identical?

I expect intitial price point in the high 40's or 50's. Just wishing in one hand.
  11. Dragonfly

Should the Gen 3 to be a smaller version of the Model S but otherwise identical?

Price point should be below $30,000 and it should go at least 260 miles. Maybe a little more average joe and less luxury. Ford Focus/Mazda 3-ish? With Tesla style, of course.

IF Tesla partners with (_____???_____) for Supercharger locations....

Petro or Loves truck stops? Most are already close to the interstate and most of them have the amenities to hang around for a half hour to an hour. I also think they should partner with Jiffy Lube or Valvoline for battery swap locations.

    Minneapolis Service Center!

Drove by the service center over the weekend while I was in St. Louis Park. (Power was out, not much else to do.) There is a nice Tesla sign and a glass overhead door on the building now. There was also a silver S inside charging. Looks like the 3 bays on the south-ish side of the building...

    Enthusiast Non-buyers (gen3 waiters)

Help with North Dakota / MN trip planning

I think the Walgreens here in Fargo and Moorhead have charging stations, but I'm not 100% sure of that. If Raven checks in, he might have some suggestions for you. He's been driving his MS in the FM area for a couple months now.

I'll agree with that statement. I'll amend my condemnation (doorstop design aside), admitting they do have a functional place as commuters. They will get you from point A to point B. That said, the amount of rare-earth elements it takes to build a Prius, Leaf, or Volt is astonishing and...

The Hilarious Thumbs-Down--a Model S first?

As the recent fillibuster proved, there is a lot diversity within the "right-wing" in the US. Not all "right-wingers" are conservative and not all conservatives are "right-wingers". I think you'll find a difference between "right-wing" and "conservative". The Tesla is conservative in the fact...

Is Tesla winter testing in North Dakota?

No evidence, just a hunch, but perhaps Tesla has cars testing with MDE International out of Bemidji, MN. Bemidji to Grand Forks via US 2 then Grand Forks to Fargo via I-29 is only 192 miles one way. With an overnight in Fargo to recharge then back to Bemidji for evaluation. MDE says they have...

Is Tesla winter testing in North Dakota?

At 7am, it is -18F (-28C) in Fargo. That will test your cold weather range loss. If that was Tesla winter testing in ND, I hope they are still here, that should give them some real-world cold weather data - and possibly a good case of frostbite.

Is Tesla winter testing in North Dakota?

Is Tesla winter testing in North Dakota?

The big three all have winter testing facilities in northern MN. Ford and Chrysler both have had facilites near Bemidji, MN since the late 80's. I think GM has a test site near Grand Rapids. The Fargo/Grand Forks area would make a good year round testing center for Tesla. We have temperature...

    Electric Lawnmowers

I've had a Neuton CE6 for three years now, the CE6 has the larger 19" blade. It's awesome. It's about the same power as a 4hp gas mower. Most gas mowers run around 6hp today, so it's a little less powerful than the average mower. That said, it's done a great job cutting my 5000 sq ft of...

Formula one should ditch the internal combustion engine

I've been saying for years that the best thing for EV's would be a race circuit like NASCAR or Formula one. Look what happened to development of the internal combustion once they started racing at Daytona beach in the 40's and the drag scene in the 50's-60's. Tesla should put together an...

As an avid off-road rider, this is one sweet little ride. The price is inline with a top drawer off-road motorcycle. I can't wait to try one out in the woods. The only drawback I see is that an average off-road trail ride or enduro measures in at 40-60 miles and 4-5 hours. Waaaay outside the...
