They are V3 chargers. Probably will be online in 2-3 weeks.

Tesla is still putting finishing touches on the charges. No longer free but they work great!

    CCS Adapter - ?

You would use the CCS adapter to DC fast charge from somewhere other than a Tesla Supercharger. You would use the J1772 adapter if you want to AC Level II charge.

Preconditioning for fast charging, worth it?

I've noticed when it preconditions early (maybe an hour before reaching the charger), the car isn't using any additional energy. It's just pushing waste heat to the battery. When you get somewhat closer and it still needs to precondition, it may heat it actively by running the motors...

    Model Y 82kW Battery Pack

Just 321. Makes me wonder if there will ever be a software update to unlock it.

    Model Y 82kW Battery Pack

According to ScanMyTesla, my MYLR7 has the 82kwh and it was built in March. I know VINs aren't always sequential, but mine is a 146xxx VIN. I can't get the dynotest to work.

What has been hauled or transported in your model Y

Haha well we do run a farm stay Airbnb. Instead of writing off the car, we do write off the mileage.

What has been hauled or transported in your model Y

    About ~1500lbs of hay

    Model Y 82kW Battery Pack

March build, VIN 146,XXX with the 82kWh pack checking in. I know several people with VINs after me with the older packs. Guess the transition started back in March.

There's a chrome extension that you can use to filter Airbnb results by EV charging.

2021 model Y scan my Tesla battery size

My March built Y has the 82kWh pack. My only guess as to why mine had it and others did not is that maybe they were giving first preference to the 7 seaters. Strange.
  13. L

2021 model Y scan my Tesla battery size

    Is yours a 5 or 7 seater?

    What's my REAL usable battery?

I received my MYLR at the end of March. Scan My Tesla shows that I have a 82kWh pack with 79kWh usable.
  15. L

    Range Increase & Performance Increase

I show a range of 326 as well. Scan My Tesla says that the pack is 82kwh with 79kwh usable. My mileage/energy calculations seem to indicate 78kwh or so.

    Range Increase & Performance Increase

Not quite sure what my build date was, but delivery was 3/31
  17. L

    Range Increase & Performance Increase

146,XXX, although I know of some 15X,XXX VINs that don't have it. I have a 7 seater if that matters. That's what I can't figure out--I don't know if it will always be software locked, or if we'll get an update someday. If it remains locked, then maybe my battery degradation will be less...

    Range Increase & Performance Increase

According to Scan My Tesla, my LR has an 82kwh battery. I've heard a few other reports as well. I doubt that my experience is "solid proof", but it's something at least.
  19. L

2021 model Y scan my Tesla battery size

Eh, it's not too bad--no more than a 5 min install.

Hey! Muncie, IN huh? Couple of Ball State grads here. Swing by Georgetown if you want a free charge!

2021 model Y scan my Tesla battery size

Good idea, but I didn't see any change in the 78kwh total. Here's what SMT was saying this morning as the energy screen showed 301wh/mi and 215mi of range.
  22. L

2021 model Y scan my Tesla battery size

I just calcuated 78kWh as well. I guess that is 1kWh less than what Scan My Tesla is saying. SMT is also saying there is an additional 3.6kWh buffer.

2021 model Y scan my Tesla battery size

How did you come across that number?
  24. L

2021 model Y scan my Tesla battery size

That is correct. Took possession of the car (7 seater) 3/30, VIN 146,XXX
  25. L

2021 model Y scan my Tesla battery size

I am seeing 82.1kWh "when new" on my March 2021 MY LR through the Scan My Tesla app.
  26. L

    82kwh LR?

I'm showing 325mi at 100%. I'm thinking that maybe the extra kwh's can be unlocked with a future software update? I don't know, it seems like the app is showing that it's usable already.
  27. L

    82kwh LR?

    VIN: 146,1XX
  28. L

    82kwh LR?

So I picked up my March built MYLR on 3/30. I bought a CAN bus adapter and an OBD2 sensor and downloaded the Scan My Tesla app. It appears as though it has a 82kwh battery pack. Any other reports of the larger batter pack in the LR versions? Is my app correct?

    Service Cost Estimate

It sounds like they are estimating a worst-case scenario of having to replace the aero shield. Hopefully it won't come to that.

It'd be nice if it was finished in a week. Gonna pick up my MY in Blue Ash!

Best interest rate via Tesla financing?

I had the exact same experience with matching DCU. I joined for $5, screenshotted the loan agreement, and Tesla immediately matched it no prob. Sucks it's not more streamlined, but still worth time and effort.

Out of curiosity, what software are you using to get your charging information?

When is structural battery pack & 4680 cells coming & Why are you not waiting until then?

I have concerns about its structural design. While I know Tesla batteries are top notch and generally pretty reliable, I've heard many stories of packs or modules being replaced out of warranty. My assumption is that this can't be done with the 4680's. I also wonder about insurance...

    Tax credit (Green ACT)

These types of incentives aren't usually based on model years, but calendar years. Currently, there is no language to include EVs prior to the date in which it would become law. I'm hoping that it will be inclusive of all EVs sold in 2021. There is precedent for EV tax credits being...

Is a HPWC/80A charging possible with this panel?

Circuits are rated for peak capacity and aren't many to run at peak continuously. I'm no electrician, but it seems as though you must plan for the worst--that is, the heaviest usage. I doubt any electrician would install breakers rated higher than what the panel can provide... even if you plan...
  39. L

Is a HPWC/80A charging possible with this panel?

I would think that you would need a 100amp breaker to charge at 80amps continuously in which case you could not install it and pass inspection.

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

To me, that corrosion looks superficial. Then again, I'm viewing it on my phone.

Is a HPWC/80A charging possible with this panel?

I would say doubtful. Do you have electric heat (pump), water, and/or dryer?

    Physical size of Model S...

I'm hearing all these reports on how wide the car is. To try to put things in perspective, I put the MS specs next to a Camry's. Although the MS's exterior dimensions were much bigger, and its cargo capacity is 4x greater, the interior was the same if not smaller than a Camry's. My question is...

    Financial Feasibility

All the feedback is appreciated! Much of my frustration is pumping $65 in gas every week. That money is virtually being burned up. Buying a Model S may or (very likely) will not be a money saving measure. However, I would much rather "invest" that $65/week or $3000 to $4000/annually into a...

    Financial Feasibility

I know there's a few threads going about this topic. I've read them and they've been helpful. I was hoping that a few of you could take a look at the 10 year cost analysis I have drawn up. A little about me: our annual household income is about $75,000. We have no debt but our mortgage. My...

    Vehicle Property Taxes

Hey dave, I'm in ky too! I actually crunched the numbers too and got the same figures. In ky, there are many taxes figured into our annual vehicle registration. Like you mentioned, this plus the maintenance fee has pushed me into waiting a couple years for an S or a GenIII. If you want to be...

Resale value for Tesla Model S

I've been thinking about the resale value as well. What I've been trying to figure out is what the 85kWh's value will be after 10 years and 250,000 miles---provided it's on its second battery pack. If the battery is relatively new, and the motor is strong, the only thing I can come up with is...

    Cost Anxiety Mitigation Program (CAMP)

No, I'm a special education teacher and my wife is a math teacher. She does teach honors courses--who knows, it would be great if there was an emerging business/tech leader. I am starting to think that the Model S price is a bit more than we can handle. Yeah, going with the Model S probably...
