Why not show estimated range (based on recent driving trends) instead of rated range?

If people want it, they should add it as an option. Elon votes with the people, right? Very simple. We have 20 different games, they can certainly add one simple display change. I prefer seeing a miles estimate. The EPA one is a total waste. I would pull up the energy screen, but it takes the...

Will this 12V lead acid battery work for OEM replacement?

So the So the ultimate answer for a Model 3 before 2022.3 is 1) 33Ah minimum, and 2) 51R for the size. Is that correct? And either lead acid or AGM works. Lead acid is what Tesla uses, but AGM also works (I have not idea what AGM means, but I'm ok with that). I'm guessing Cold Crank Amps is...

Will this 12V lead acid battery work for OEM replacement?

Correction. The estimate includes $210 for a diagnostic. I asked about it and he said I'd only pay for the portion of the diagnostic that applies. It'll be much less that $210. Seems a little odd, but ok.

Will this 12V lead acid battery work for OEM replacement?

For someone who doesn't understand batteries, it's not easy to figure out what batteries will work without going through Tesla. BTW, I have an appointment today to get the 12V replaced. $316. I guess the days of the cheap batter replacement are over. It's out of warranty. 2019 Model 3 with 67k...

    Predicted mileage on main screen?

Is it possible to put the predicted mileage on the main screen instead of rated miles? It's 10 degrees outside and the "rated" mileage is essentially useless and somewhat dangerous if you're not paying attention. Seems like an easy UI option to implement, no?

New App and Charging Info is propaganda rather than data

You’re 3 months in. Relax and enjoy the car. They’re using all kinds of statewide averages, which is never perfect. If you want real info make your own spreadsheet. I have a wattage reader where my car plugs in, so I know exactly how much electricity it draws. They can’t use actual mileage...

    FSD beta 10.7

Don’t base on upgrade from 10.5. That was weird.

    FSD Beta 10.6

Ugh. Patience is not one of my virtues, haha. I'm sure I'll find a phone number to nag someone in a few days. I'd rather them just tell me to be patient, otherwise I'll keep thinking there's something wrong with my account/car/connection or something.

    FSD Beta 10.6

Has anyone had issues getting 10.6 update notification. The other updates came within a day of it coming out, but still no notification for 10.6 yet :( Nevermind...should have read the previous threads. Seems like I'm not the only one.

FSD 10.4 won’t engage in rain

Anyone notice on 10.4 that FSD isn’t available when it’s raining? It drives fine at first, but after the first disengagement it wouldn’t engage FSD again. If you park, and start again it’s the same…works until the first disengagement. Only light rain I’d say.

Supercharger - Somerset, PA - Westbound Service Plaza

Westbound to Pittsburgh. Tesla routed me to old Wendys...even though the Turnpike ones are open!!! I got to see the new chargers as I zoomed past 😢. Should have checked this site first.

    Autonomous Car Progress

It's fun to see the race to autonomy. Of course I think Tesla will win, but what do I know. Waymo seems very smooth, but also in a very controlled environment. If Tesla can get over the hump, they're training their cars for anywhere. I do enjoy being a guinea pig for it though. The cross country...

Overreaction: Is Elon planning on selling us out?

    A) This isn't a discussion of particulates in the air. I'm not arguing for ICE vehicles. B) Robotaxis will not give everyone access to education, employment, etc. Believe it or not we already have taxis in the world...we've had them for 70 years. Robotaxis will undoubtedly cost more than a...

Overreaction: Is Elon planning on selling us out?

Sounds nice, but I think we already know this won’t happen. Oddly enough this view of the world has been available for decades...they’re called taxis. There’s no need to own a car, especially with the ease of Uber now. Making cars driverless is the exact same system, just without a human driver...

Overreaction: Is Elon planning on selling us out?

Since we’re all Beta testers, maybe we should start a class action suit for pay and benefits As someone who doesn’t do anything the traditional way, I was hoping for a little gentler stab in the back, not projecting it years in advance. I guess I just have to keep my current Model 3 running for...

Overreaction: Is Elon planning on selling us out?

Maybe this is just an emotional overreaction, but after reading a recent Elektrek article (Tesla CEO Elon Musk talks self driving; $1,000 price increase coming Nov. 1 - Electrek, read half way down...Elon Twitter response to Luis Ramirez) that discussed how Elon plans to stop selling Teslas at...

Things my wife said about Navigate on Autopilot tonight

Maybe it's in my head, but my theory is that the computer says "I need 10% brake to slow down in time", but in applying the brake, it also takes acceleration to 0, and just the act of letting off the "gas" is like 50% brake with the full regen on. Somehow it needs to learn to give it less gas...

Things my wife said about Navigate on Autopilot tonight

I've adjusted the regen to the lower setting when on AP and NOA in the past. At least when it stops accelerating it's not as jerky. Hard to tell when it reduces acceleration or actually hits the brakes. On regular regen it's way too jerky to be called comfortable. My wife is nice to me, but I...

    2019.32 Navigate is unusable

Thanks. Maybe I just ran into 3 different situations that were just not good for Navigate (NOA). It just seemed surprising after the last version was so good. My hands are always on the wheel, and I love playing with it to see how the car will respond to different situations, but this is the...

    2019.32 Navigate is unusable

2019.32.2.1 Navigate on Autopilot is too scary to use. Accelerating and braking for no reason. Will partially change lanes then swerve back. I thought Navigate was getting better in the last few updates, and .28 was really smooth, but I can’t use it anymore. It may not crash, but I’m afraid I’m...

PA state inspection (south central PA)

Just took mine to Lewis Auto Care on Derry Street in Harrisburg for the initial inspection. I'd never been there before but it looked like he did a lot of high end cars. Takes a little faith since it's not pretty on the outside, but they know what they're doing and not afraid of the Tesla. Just...

Back up collision avoidance / blind spot detection??

So I had a 10 hour trip back from SC, and here’s one major issue I eluded to...the screen does not show cars behind you correctly. I’ll add pictures later, but when an adjacent car first shows up on the screen it’s already too close. Maybe won’t physically hit it, but would be close. But on the...

Back up collision avoidance / blind spot detection??

Maybe I’m not sure what my concern is. I’m not saying I should be an unsafe idiot and not pay attention, but in those instances when I am an idiot, I would expect a car with all that data to warn me I’m inches from sideswiping someone. If nothing else under the emergency avoidance system. I’ll...

Back up collision avoidance / blind spot detection??

I don’t remember. Good to hear it should be beeping at me at least. I would have said yes, but not positive. I think I have lane departure warning off because I don’t want it beeping every time I forget, or fighting me to change lanes. But if it knows I’m crossing a line and there’s a car there...

Back up collision avoidance / blind spot detection??

Does it have a yellow LED? My other car does, but haven’t seen one on the Tesla, unless I need to turn it on. I’ve definitely started watching when cars show up on the display and it’s way too late. They’re already physically next to me.

Back up collision avoidance / blind spot detection??

Owner for 1 month. Totally in love. Car beeped at me when I was approaching a stopped car too quickly ...very helpful. 30 seconds later I almost drove someone off the road who was in my blind spot. Where was the warning!! I was a little pissed. There’s no blinking or beeping, and the picture on...

    WTF with these SW updates??

It just adds to the general aura that Tesla does interesting/cool/fun/outside-the-box things that no one else does, or even thinks about doing. And it's not a "good" EV. It's a kick-butt, sporty, cool EV. Which is why the Tesla sells and every other EV is essentially ignored.

    WTF with these SW updates??

He may be upset that the same "update" has come four times now. Under 2019.20.4.1, 2, 3, and now 4. I did the update last night and you get the same screen of "What's New", but it's the same list as the first 3 times. If these are such minor tweaks that they're using 4 decimal points, they...

    Construction detected warning!

Got this error tonight, but came up just after the construction area. There was a section where it only showed one lane instead of the two that were available. Seems a bit quirky.

Back doors don't sound solid like front doors

Not a complaint, but the back doors sound wimpy when closing, and seem to require a little extra effort, otherwise they don't close the whole way. The front doors close nice and solid...like a normal door. Just curious if that's how it should be or if it's something I should ask about if I go in...

HW3 upgrade waiting room: All FSD Tesla’s

Thanks. Not that those features are worth 6k, but I was getting nervous based on these posts that I truly got no current benefit from paying 6k now. The Navigate on AP fun to play with, although nerve wracking at times.

HW3 upgrade waiting room: All FSD Tesla’s

This is not a snide response, but do we know it doesn't run smoother? I would hope the added processor helps it process faster and at least provide some benefit. Not sure I've seen someone do an actual side by side comparison on the same road. Would be interesting to see.

HW3 upgrade waiting room: All FSD Tesla’s

Someone let me know if I'm wrong. I just bought M3 with FSD ($6k) 2 weeks ago (6/17). What I believe I got for 6k at the moment is Navigate on Autopilot, which changes lanes for me in highway situations, self parking, and summon (that only goes forwards and backwards...not "anywhere" as noted on...

    Tesla Crash in Indy

It has nothing to do with liability. Any normal person knows the guy is a moron. They are simply gambling that Tesla will not want any bad publicity and simply settle out of court. My guess is they will not go away empty handed...undisclosed amount and Tesla admits no fault. Then the lawyers...

How to monitor amount of electricity going through my NEMA 14-50

ccdisce. I have that monitor for another plug-in hybrid I have and love it. Getting a Model 3 on Wednesday and already purchased another monitor. What mounting box did you install it in...that looks nice and I need something to make my old and new one look better.
