    Pleather for all...

I'm with Spidy. I'm not always a leather fan and even once special ordered a Volvo to get cloth seats, which, btw, at 250k still look good, but I think that the option should be there and I think it went away because they didn't /couldn't do a good job at with leather for some reason.. Lots of...

    Pleather for all...

Nothing at Tesla is forever. Think of free supercharging for life, then only a little free supercharging for life, then free supercharging for life for almost everyone. I predict the return of leather option when someone figures out how toake it work well.

    Answer phone or close roof.

I believe there was a very short lived software release that did both with a single push. Yet another thing they took away from us

    Pleather for all...

Thanks to Ahkahn for posts above, especially 58 & 62. It is good to have an expert opinion rather than a bunch of conspiracy theories. I suspect however that there will be at least some market resistance and delayed acceptance. That said I think it would have been better for Tesla, witches had...

do I need a clear bra with the nano-coating?

Clear bra or wrap and sealant of any kind me at nano, other synthetic, ceramic or even wax protecting different ways. Clear bra absorbs impact from stones and road debris and scratches. Sealant protects against oxidation and leaves a shiny wet looking surface. After 120,000 miles on my 2013...

    OMG the bugs!

Griot's garage sells a product called "Bug Brigade" that you spray on before a road trip that makes it a little easier to remove the bugs. Also you should remove bugs as soon possible because the bugs are acidic and may stain your paint. I'm sure the acid can't be good for the wraps either.

    Clearly, the user friendly approach.

New Tech and Controls coming soon for S?!

Yes, but with control over the CAN bus there can easily be a reduction in copper

If you fast charge, Tesla will permanently throttle charging

By this defination, I guess I am out of spec because at (only) 4 years and 115k, my battery is "only" degraded b 5% or so, therefore I have an out of spec car. Maybe I should ask them to pull some cells to get me back into spec. (LOL)

If you fast charge, Tesla will permanently throttle charging

I would therefore like to see an option early in the life of my car that would allow me to supercharge more slowly and save my fast chargers for what I really need them at a later date. Seems like an easy software switch. That said, TM really owes it to us to disclose how they are modifying...

Has Voice command improved a whole lot recently?

Compared to my BMW the voice command on my 13X for 17X is lousy. Compares to a BMW that my friend had in 1992. I think you are is Tesla's Achilles heel any ventrally what other manufacturers catch up to EV functionality of Tesla, they will be held to the fire for UI issues, but likely not till then

[Resolved] Frustrated Mad and Angry at Service right now

When you take pictures, always remember to take some of your light headliner. I have had considerable dirt on mine when it is returned and they always deny it. I complained about scratches once and now they make me wait quite a while to go over the car and detail before I drop it off.

    Plastic protective film

Full wrap on my X after many chips on my S and prior cars. No regrets. Expensive, yes. But cheaper than paint. Just one scratch from a kid with a backpack at an earthday event did 3K worth of damage to the S

No more solid painted roof (Glasses or Sunroof)

No to mention that for thosue of us in the north with "a little less hair" really feel the cold in the winter. I have a Pano roof on my "S" and I would not do it again if I had a choice. It is perhaps the most annoying part of the car for several months a year. Probably decreases range a bit...

Autopilot 2.0 rock steady in heavy rain video - version 8.1

With limited [300 mo] experience using AP 2 8.1 in an X in heavy rain at night, it rocks. Kept me from hitting debris in the fast lane that i would not have seen in time. X windsheld also blew itself very clean. That said, i still wouldn't let go of the wheel. Maybe someday, not now though.

New owner building arsenal of emergency adapters and cables

My experience is similar with, over 150k electric miles, on three cars, over 4 years. While it depends were ou drive, the adapter thing, except maybe the Tesla suite and the Chademo adapter, is yesterday's news. If I were buying anything now it would be.a 20 ft 1772 extension cord to get around...

    10k for STek full body?

Presumptively Suntek?. If so, I just got mine done in Allentown Pa for half that. Outstanding job as well.
  22. E

    Harrisburg or Allentown PA?

I use both often. For late night i would take HBG because there is a 24 hr Sheetz and Waffle house. 2r hr. Duncan and Diner in Allentown are afarther walk. Otherwise pretty equal. HBG sometimes charges a bit faster and your battery will be lower SOC and therefore will charge faster.

Touch screen VS buttons and Nobs

Great. Parts bins are indeed not that deep and parts like knobs and buttons are expensive. Steve Jobs wasn't stupid. iPod touches for play music though I'm not cars. Assuming that at least some of the time we are going to be driving these things design to keep our eyes on the road as much as...

Cover that conceals what is in rear cargo area

If the MX wasn't such a great car, this might be a real deal killer. For those of us who travel in urban areas, even a shadow can lead to trouble. I love my new X, but I really need to design something that doesn't look terrible for this purpose. I think that it was a Cali-centric move to...

How to view XM Channel list in 8.0

I never realized how much a good UI matters before I got my I3. After many misses BMW finally got it right and I really enjoy the infotainment system. XM offers channel lists by number, artist, title and favorites. It is a channel hoppers dream. My Tesla interfaces are a dream too, only a bad...

Tesla at public charger next to supercharger

We must consider that as Tesla owners we can use wiyher Superchargers or L2, others have only L2 which are slower and are usually leas plentiful. Just because we can use L2, it should be a second choice, leaving that resource available for others

Doing a brake job myself help please

That's shelf life. In use, it absorbs water and such, leading to shorter life. Frequent replacement helps protect seals, etc and changing it is cheap insurance. BTW, my pads lasted at least 100K, they only got changed because I got new rotors.

Model S damaged at SC 1 day before delivery. What should I do?

Happened with my I-3 (a lease) and they offered (& I accepted) a new car. Hard to do b/c it was a leftover, but they found a car and delivered!

Should I get XPel right away after delivery or wait?

I waited too long on my MS and ended up not getting it done. won't make that mistake again with my MX. I plan on not driving it, hard as that might be until I can get it into the wrap shop.

    Local Supercharging: Yea or Nay?

I charge at home, almost always, but occasionally (1-2x/yr) my turn around time needs to be shorter than the time that it would take my 14-50 to get me the range I need for the rest of the day. Under those rare circumstances it makes sense to use the unlimited supercharging (about 10 miles away)...

    CHAdeMO Adapter

I tend to push the margin as to where I travel, so lots of adapters end up in my frunk, but the only one I really ever use, and that is with decreasing frequency, is the Chademo. That said, if you don't want to be sitting at a level two for a long time, the Chademo adapter is good insurance...

    CHADEMO Adapter Worth It?

I've had one for a while, and while I use it less frequently with each passing month, when you need it, you need it. Having the adapter really makes the MS a go anywhere without worrying option. If you want to minimize limitations, travel long distances over new/unfamiliar/relatively remote...

Ticket While Using AUTO-PILOT " Failure To Stay In Lane" "Reckless"

two comments: 1) The data collection should be able to give you your speed if they are willing to give it to you and you ask in proximity to the event 2) I noticed semis getting really nervous, avoided passing and blew their air horns obnoxiously when doing so while I was driving an...

New renderings of storage space and 2nd row seats! (9/15)

I will be replacing a 200k plus Sequoia with my X. In all those miles i have folded the seats fewer than a dozen times. I probably can work arround the problem for such infrequent use, considering all of the other benefits of an X over a Sequoia, but then again, i am n oi t in the heavy hauling...

Sigs not compatible with battery swap

I'm not happy about the on board music storage. I paid for it, they didn't deliver it, and they didn't even say sorry. They just "ghosted" the whole matter. Not the way to treat people who paid 100K to be beta testers. ...just saying
