    Evie EV charging networks

Sorry, but every time I see that somewhere it pushes one of my buttons. It's a charger not a bloody orange! You charge, not juice.
  2. L

    Supercharger - Kojonup, WA

Not if it's going where those orange pipes are in the background.

    Superchargers in Australia

Let's hope they clean up the voting, there's 421 wasted votes right now for Mildura which is in service.
  4. L

    Supercharger - Mildura, Vic

They've made it a bit more clever, for me it says "Charge your EV". Must be changing depending on if you have a Tesla or not. It used to say Non-Tesla
  5. L

    Ampol AmpCharge network

Those are the ones that Viva had to dispose of to get the OTR deal across the line. They'll get a proper rebrand at some stage.

    Supercharger - Mildura, Vic

Which will soon be a Shell/OTR and probably have chargers there.

    Evie EV charging networks

Seems like all i'm doing is reporting dupes on Plugshare in Melbourne these days. Newbies don't seem to be able to look before adding dupes now.

    Chadstone Store - Closed 24/10/23

The centre owners might be rethinking that after the BYD incident in Sydney on the weekend.
  9. L

    Evie EV charging networks

It said it was for transactions via the app only.
  10. L

    Evie EV charging networks

I'd say that's extremely likely. I dare say i'll be using the RFID card a lot more than the app now.

Tesla quits Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries 7/3/24 effective June 2024

I could see some of the others following, either because they're pushing EVs or just to stick the boot into Toyota.
  12. L

    Engie Australian EV charging network

They opened a site here in Frankston in the last couple of weeks at Monash Uni Peninsula campus. It's a nice Kempower setup in the bus turning area that's accessible 24/7. As an aside, is it just me or is the map on their website absolutely useless? When you zoom in the dots disappear!
  13. L

    Supercharger - Horsham (VIC)

The OTR hotdogs are alright for a snack.
  14. L

    Supercharger - Ballarat (Lucas)

You'll be fine on the highway, the fires are heading further north now.
  15. L

    Supercharger - Kilmore, Vic

There were other chargers there before that were removed.

Australian standards for home charging an Electric Vehicle.

I bought one of those, works ok for me since I can leave it on 10amps at home but if i'm at a 15amp outlet i can turn it up. You only have to set it once and it remembers the setting until you change it. In my case, the MG4 comes with a crappy Chinese charger, so this is actually an upgrade!
  17. L

    NRMA fast charging network

Nuriootpa has certainly got a few options now. Engie, NRMA and RAA all with decent speeds.
  18. L

    Chargepoint in Australia (Closed 31/01/2024)

Chadstone has something like 7 spots now and that doesn't feel like enough. Surely any large shopping centre these days should be installing at least 10-20 spaces.
  19. L

Everything Electric Sydney (February 9-10-11, 2024)

There's no incentive for a tenant to want to upgrade a landlords property (when they could be out within 12 months) and no incentive for a landlord to do something that only helps a tenants power bills go down. There are so many problems with housing in this country. That's just one of them.
  20. L

    Evie EV charging networks

For starters, Chuq's map doesn't have the non Evie charger options in Horsham, which is the route most people would take between Nhill and Hamilton. I mean it's got a way to go, but we don't have it bad.

    Evie EV charging networks

The Destination Charging Across Victoria website has had an update, the following Evie sites have been opened since the previous update: Bannockburn, Hopetoun, Fish Creek, Corryong, Wodonga, Warragul, Stawell, Leongatha, Korumburra, Portland, Torquay, Apollo Bay and Murrayville. The map is...

    Superchargers in Australia

I doubt it's that bad, but i'm sure a lot of budgets were focused on getting the holiday period sorted. Things will probably quieten down for that reason in the first half of the year.

Ever wondered how strong a Tesla roof is?

Another example from South East Melbourne today:
  24. L

    Supercharger - Richmond VIC

Went past this afternoon and took a quick peek through the gate.
  25. L

    BP Pulse Network

Except now Chargefox has a card number in their system that they didn't issue. That might eventually end up causing other problems.
  26. L

    BP Pulse Network

Unless there's an agreed prefix or suffix code (like how the first digits on a CC separate Visa and Mastercard) you're playing a risky game doing that.
  27. L

    Evie EV charging networks

And the front one is blowing it's hot air straight back into the second one, so watch that fail quick smart.

Vehicular ferries AMSA guidelines for carrying EV's

Yeah, my point was there's bugger all available for charging on the Devonport side. Wouldn't kill them to have something else as an option next to the Tesla chargers. I think the argument is that charging is the most dangerous time (from this perspective) so make sure you've got enough charge...

Vehicular ferries AMSA guidelines for carrying EV's

One takeaway from that, TT-Line expect you to charge before boarding and provide for that (the Devonport Supercharger). Maybe as a non-Tesla owner I should start pushing for them to provide a non-Tesla option as well.

Vehicular ferries AMSA guidelines for carrying EV's

I've always preferred turning up to the Spirit of Tas as late as possible. Less time spent in the waiting line is better plus you end up with a faster exit anyway.
  31. L

    Superchargers in Australia

Obviously there was a big push to get sites done for the holidays. I wonder how long we'll have to wait to see some new sites start to appear in the new year?
  32. L

    EV Charging In A Stacker

Stackers are an absolute nightmare at best in my experience. You don't want to add an EV charger to that mess.
  33. L

    Superchargers in Australia

FFS, Mildura already has 22 votes despite getting through in the the last round.
  34. L

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

But you do call a number of a support person that can access the machine remotely, refund you if needed and arrange a tech to visit the machine. Chargefox can't do that.
  35. L

    Evie EV charging networks

oh, I thought you meant Western Victoria, not West Melbourne!
  36. L

    Evie EV charging networks

Hamilton? Otherwise it seems like they're actually doing a pretty good job?
  37. L

    Supercharger - Yass, NSW

Well Tarcutta and Gundagai are both on the list. At the rate they're going they'll probably be here this time next year.
  38. L

    NRMA fast charging network

    Actually....
  39. L

    Supercharger - Wendouree (Ballarat) VIC

    That's Wendouree

    Superchargers in Australia

Yeah, that joke backfired quickly…. It’s not my day :)
  42. L

    Supercharger - Kilmore, Vic

I've been to Bendigo that way. It’s actually a nice drive.
  43. L

    Superchargers in Australia

But the one constant we can all be assured of: They will continue to ignore the North and West suburbs of Melbourne and we'll continue to see posts pointing it out.
  44. L

Supercharger - Melbourne (Hawthorn East), Vic

I think this one is popular 🤣
  45. L

    Evie EV charging networks

According to Plugshare, Evie Stawell went live yesterday.

Growth of Superchargers vs Teslas/EVs in Australia

I'd assume Tesla can see a queue of Teslas at a supercharger station and stop any charger there going past 80% if they wanted to. Regardless of brand plugged in.
  47. L

    Evie EV charging networks

Just to clarify, this is the one at the Ampol, not the one at Seven Hills Plaza.

Why the heck are they only putting a 7kW charger in Bordertown, right on the highway!
