Connectivity trouble with the app and software downloads

Update: I disabled DNSSEC on my network, and the app started magically talking to the car again without issues. I still don't understand why DNSSEC would cause the app not to be able to talk to the car, particularly when I didn't see any failed authentication or filtered requests but there it...

Connectivity trouble with the app and software downloads

Ok, having looked at the definitive guide, I have done the first two steps, but not the high voltage disconnect. I'm not really under the impression that would fix things, and I'm less inclined to take that step at the moment. What would really be nice is another private network I could connect...

Connectivity trouble with the app and software downloads

All, Sometime in the last several months I started noticing that my app was having trouble connecting to Sansa, my Model 3. Its basically never an issue when I'm away from home, but its almost impossible for me to get the app to connect to the car when I'm on my wifi. It also seems like the app...

What should I expect from the Tesla Service Center?

I suppose ultimately everyone's mileage will vary. I had some decent experiences with the local BMW dealer, and one decent experience with Ford, and one bad experience where they tried to over-replace parts on my Explorer (steering wheel column motors needed to be replaced, so they wanted to...

What should I expect from the Tesla Service Center?

Yep - that's my thoughts exactly. The SC installed the updated breathers on my SR+, so I'll have to try and take it to a supercharger sometime soon to see if its still thumping. I'm not overly concerned, but none the less its something that should get resolved.

What should I expect from the Tesla Service Center?

So! I had my SC appointment on Monday and I'm happy to report that the Virginia Beach SC was very professional and helpful! They provided me with a Model S loaner which was much nicer than Uber credits. The manager of the SC greeted me and took the car out with me to attempt to replicate the...

What should I expect from the Tesla Service Center?

Is it confirmed as a resolved issue on 2020 models? The SB simply says Model 3 vehicles built after approximately April 22, 2018. I would think it'd be resolved by then, but still. If nothing else, I may ask them to physically verify its got the updated breathers just to be sure - stranger...

Sentry Mode doesn't use B pillar cameras?

My bad - I knew the HW1 cars had limited cameras, and thought that the repeater cameras came before the pillar cameras. So then if that's the case, then I wonder why they don't include it in the Sentry Mode recordings locally. Regardless that is good info to know, and hopefully a sign of them...

What should I expect from the Tesla Service Center?

@m3supra I have heard the same thing. The first Tesla Adviser I met said they don't use business cards on purpose. The second TA I worked with, who was much better than the first guy, had a business card that she gave me. Really, it makes more sense with typical dealerships that you would have...

Sentry Mode doesn't use B pillar cameras?

Well, my thought was that maybe they were trying to make the software the same across the S, X, and 3. Many of the Ss didn't have the B pillar cameras, but most of them have the front facing, repeater, and rear cameras - that was my hypothesis anyway.

Sentry Mode doesn't use B pillar cameras?

I searched the forums regarding this and didn't see anyone mention it - do you know why Tesla doesn't use the B pillar cameras with Sentry Mode? It creates a pretty big blind spot on the front fenders since the front camera has a pretty narrow FOV. I'm confident (and hopeful) that Tesla is...

What should I expect from the Tesla Service Center?

That is very helpful, thank you @RandyS ! I was thinking it was likely an air pressure related thing - so this makes a lot of sense to me.

What should I expect from the Tesla Service Center?

Its effectively a defect or issue, not expected behavior. I don't know if an actual cause has been determined, but the vehicle isn't supposed to 'thump' while supercharging. Ergo, its not normal behavior.
  14. SheriffMoose

What should I expect from the Tesla Service Center?

I'd be very hesitant to called it normal. I believe its been reported fairly heavily, but I want it to be officially a part of my SC request to add to their data in terms of how often its happening. That, and I don't think its really acceptable for it to thump like that. Tesla may not have a...

What should I expect from the Tesla Service Center?

Yea, ultimately proper communication is a part of good customer service, and really I'm not sure I've ever been impressed with any other automotive's service center's customer service. Unfortunately if Tesla's customer service is poor, then its really par for the course with the auto industry...

Retractable Charging Solution - Driveway Charging

I heard about Tesla releasing a new generation of the wall connector. I just took a look, and it appears that its only offered with an 18' cord :( Wall Connector I'm not even sure if you can still buy the previous gen new from Tesla, or if I'd have to try and find one used =/

What should I expect from the Tesla Service Center?

Yes, I definitely feel that going in with a positive and friendly attitude is the best way to have a positive experience with customer service in general, regardless of the industry. @JamBiscuit it sounds like you had an exceptional experience - that is the kind of above and beyond service I'm...

What should I expect from the Tesla Service Center?

Yes, I've thought about this, and that quote feels very relevant here. I'm to the point that I'm not even going to ask them to look at the door handles or maybe even the window triangle trim since its really minor (and didn't fit in my text on the Service Center appointment form in the app)...

What should I expect from the Tesla Service Center?

I have a second service center that's about 90 minutes away from me. I'm thinking if I get a subpar experience at this service center, that I may try and go to the other service center to see if I can get a better experience - its just further away, so its more of a hassle.

What should I expect from the Tesla Service Center?

So the wheel fasteners are coming loose. I did see a hole above the shock absorber that was empty that I assume is either used for something else or no longer used to fasten. However, almost every since one of them I've had to push back up against the wheel well cover manually to prevent them...

What should I expect from the Tesla Service Center?

First, apologies if this is the wrong location to post this - I didn't see a location specific to Tesla service. Alright! So I took delivery of my new Model 3 SR+ on December 15th of last year. As much as I love the car, I have noticed a number of fit and finish issues. Some of them are minor...

    Model 3 Chrome Delete?

That's a good point - they offer some white options, but I don't believe they are a pearl finish. I went with black on mine since I was blacking out the chrome instead of going for a body color finish. The ones you posted are probably a better choice if you're looking for body matching.

    Window tinting recommendation

Hello, and welcome to the forums! I haven't gotten my M3 tinted yet, but I do plan on it, and I'll probably go with XPEL's solution: XPEL | Window Film | PRIME Automotive Window Tint | XR PLUS | XR | HP | CS The detailer that installed my PPF also installs their window tint, and I was impressed...

Please look at PPF issues 2 weeks old

Just looking at the fender image alone tells me you need to take it back to them. Most professional detailers tend to be very proud of their work and will want to make sure it looks as good as they'd have their own car look. I'm sure they'll correct it for you. That, and you paid good money for...

    Model 3 Chrome Delete?

I recently installed these from Abstract Ocean and I've been very happy with them so far: Model 3 Vinyl Door Handle Trims (4 pack) There is a slight bit of the chrome still visible, but I think it would give you that noticeable touch that you mentioned.

Pearl White Touch Up Paint Experiences?

@bundefeated not sure if you ever had much success after this, but there is another thread (Touch up paint) where lots of people are having the same issue with the paint not matching, myself included. I'm also hoping to reach out to the SC to see if they can do something about it.

    Touch up paint

I had a small rock chip that needed to be repaired as a part of paint protection film installation. I'm having the same issue that other Model 3 owners have, that its obviously gray and not white. Also like some others, the paint and been completely taken off in this small area, so the going...

    Autopilot getting worse

I've also noticed some phantom braking, it felt like it basically slammed on the brakes out of no one on the highway last time I was driving down I-95. Typically, AP helps make the trip more relaxed, but I tensed up a bit in fear of getting rear ended; definitely the opposite of the intended...

Retractable Charging Solution - Driveway Charging

That is a very nice job that he did. That is probably a bit pricey for my tastes, at least at the moment, but something similar to that in the future would be pretty amazing. In the end, I may see what the local Tesla certified installer would suggest as possible options, assuming I don't decide...

Retractable Charging Solution - Driveway Charging

Maybe I'll remeasure then, just to double check :) I thought they only offered an 8' version. Having a 'permanent' connector in the garage would be nice. I still think its hard for me to justify the added $500, especially since its really only for the added 4' of cord length in my particular...

Retractable Charging Solution - Driveway Charging

I didn't realize there was some code changes that push for 240V outlets for EVs. I wonder if they decided to do that purely for safety, or if it was really more of a suggestion from an efficiency standpoint. If I do go the route of installing an outdoor outlet, it'd most likely be a 240V...

Retractable Charging Solution - Driveway Charging

Sorry I've been a little MIA, but I appreciate the additional input! The measurements I made were with the vehicle already backed in =/ I think the outdoor wall connector would be nice, but it also inherently has the limitation of a shorter cord. I like that the MC has a 20' cord so that it is...

Retractable Charging Solution - Driveway Charging

Ah, I see, that makes more sense regarding the rubbermaid cover. In regards to the garage and my SO's car, it ends up being a really snug fit. I could make it work, but she would have to pull up like 6" from the rolling garage door, and then I'd have to park within 2' (probably closer to 18")...

Retractable Charging Solution - Driveway Charging

That's correct, the outlet I have is inside the garage right next to the rollup door. I haven't actually tried seeing if the cord can reach , but its on the left side of the garage door, and I usually back in, putting the plug on the opposite side of the car. I definitely wouldn't be able to...

Retractable Charging Solution - Driveway Charging

I am using 120V on an extension cord that I will admit is longer than I'd like; its of midrange quality. I wanted to give it a little bit of time to see how I would use the charger before I bought an extension cable specifically for the Tesla. As far as 240V goes, I don't currently have plans...

Retractable Charging Solution - Driveway Charging

I'm happily owning my new Model 3 SR+ and she's been great. Sadly though, my garage is too small to fit her well enough to get her in there regularly. As a result, she's typically parked in my driveway, usually behind my SO's car since I typically leave work first. How I'm charging today: I've...

Ah, gotcha. I'm new, so still learning the way of things :) I'll continue to monitor it, and try to use AP when I can to keep an eye on it! I did notice this today as well. When I rolled up into the parking lot at work it started complaining the front camera was blocked. It looks like it the...

Has anyone noticed any difference with how the car handles stop and go traffic? Model 3 Mud Flaps for saving the dirt from getting on the paint

That's weird, they do look different on the Amazon page than what you have installed. I definitely prefer the style like you have installed since it doesn't cover any of the outside facing painted surface on the fender.

Model 3 Mud Flaps for saving the dirt from getting on the paint

Is there a reason to think these are significantly better than TSolutions' offering? (Tesla Parts and Accessories - Products) I know a lot of people here picked these up with a group order, and they offer flaps for all 4 corners, all for a lower cost point. Seems like a better value to me.

Windshield noise reduction kit, just to keep out debris

Unfortunately that's all too common with things on the Amazon marketplace in particular these days. Always gotta try and lookup the company to see that its actually a quality product you want to purchase, or take the risk that its some cheap knockoff product that will fail early or under perform.

Scheduled Departure - not working as expected

So for clarity, are you saying you think its following a peak schedule because your area uses peak scheduling, even though you're not subscribed to a peak plan, or do you think its doing that across the entire fleet, regardless of location? My area doesn't have any sort of peak cost. I don't...
