What amount of vibration is “normal?”

I originally had a 2019 Model 3 Performance that I was extremely happy with. My situation and expectation was identical to yours. Tesla ended up buying the car back. The reality is that the Model X suspension is a pile of trash. It is astonishing that they have made this vehicle for so long and...

Is the glass distortion still a problem for ‘24 model

Regarding the back glass, I don't think I've seen one that was right. I have an appointment to get the windshield, rear hatch, front-passenger, and driver side-view mirror replaced on the 29th. Will report back with results.

Is the glass distortion still a problem for ‘24 model

Actually, no vibration! The model X had plenty, though!

24 days in service center for wind noise

Wait 6 more days and let it qualify for lemon law.

Is the glass distortion still a problem for ‘24 model

It's not linear, so I suspect it is a manufacturing defect.

Is the glass distortion still a problem for ‘24 model

For me, the glass has definitely been an issue. I just picked up a 2024 Model S and, unfortunately, definitely lots of glass issues. I inspected carefully before accepting; however, it wasn't noticeable until I drove the car: Windshield has vertical ripples on passenger side. Makes straight...

    Deliveries of $80k X?

The ones in that thread are different. It feels like the rear end is dancing around on the road and creates propagating vibrations through the chassis - it really is awful.

    Deliveries of $80k X?

With all the 2024 MX owners in this thread, has anyone had any vibration issues as mentioned in this thread?

why won't Tesla transfer FUSC more than once?

Going forward, it might be possible to add FSD as an "aftermarket item" on the insurance policy. Worth checking with insurance because if you did have to replace the vehicle for a duplicate, it would cost an extra $12k than what the original MSRP was.

Getting highland vented/cooled seats for the model Y

Has anyone successfully ordered these seats or have ideas as to when it might be possible to order these seats? I am very interested in replacing the seats in my 2019 M3P. Not concerned about the ventilation working, so long as the heat works.

Vibration on brand new Model X at about 38mph to 60mph

This particular concern seems to be a matter of the vehicle having the issue or not, rather than something that happens over time. My X had the issue from delivery, noticeable enough to the point that I made a service appointment that same night. The camber adjustment / lower kit is to address...

    Front License Plate Bracket

Phew... was ready to get a whole new bumper to get rid of that atrocity, so this is a relief. Thank you!

    Front License Plate Bracket

Looking to take delivery of a new Model S in the coming weeks. Delivery center is saying that they come off the line with the front plate bracket installed. I really don't want the plate bracket on there. A few questions Can anyone confirm if this is true and that the cars do indeed deliver...

Ambient lighting for 2023 Model X?

According to Teslascope - just now - vehicles are currently being assembled with both the front bumper camera and the ambient lighting.

Vibration on brand new Model X at about 38mph to 60mph

Yeah, I am not wiling to take the gamble on a brand new one. I think the only safe approach to replacement with another X would be to buy a pre-owned one or a demo because you can at least drive it first. If you want to do the FSD transfer it gets a bit more complex because you can't transfer...

Vibration on brand new Model X at about 38mph to 60mph

This was an FSD transfer purchase, so: Original purchase price No sales tax reimbursement FSD reimbursement valued at cost of original purchase (2019 for me, so $5k) "good will" reimbursement for miles driven. For each mile you drove, you get reimbursed. I thought this would work exactly the...

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Thank you for the info! I have a 2019 M3P with 84k mi and it is like silk on smooth roads that the X shakes on just as you describe. I have demo'd the new 3, Y, and S and they are leagues better. It's all I can think about. I just have give it back to Tesla. Going to miss that awesome...

Vibration on brand new Model X at about 38mph to 60mph

I made a good case with service that the demo I drove before ordering was smooth, this one is not, they can't fix it, and it's unacceptable for a $100k vehicle. Eventually got it up the chain to someone willing to do the buyback. I bought a few weeks time to try and solve on my own, so still...

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Wanted to check in and see if this fixed your seat-back vibrations long-term? Specifically the ~30-60mph rumble/vibration. It's all I can think about - it's like a sickness. And vibration is how I would describe it, really. Over smooth roads (nothing is perfectly smooth) it is a fairly high...

    Going from a S to a X

Is there any way to make sure that rear doors don't open besides being careful? Looks like this could turn into a bad day really quick.
  21. MobileMikeV

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Do we know if the roughness/vibration/shake comes from the front or rear? I only feel it through the seats, not the yoke, so my gut is the rear end sort of "dancing" over the road a little on very slight surface imperfections, thus the thought that a rear sway bar might help out.

Vibration on brand new Model X at about 38mph to 60mph

So, this shake/vibration is the only thing I can think about when I drive the X since the day I picked it up with 6mi on the odometer. Currently in process of a buy-back as a result of it. The X is great and, other than this issue, would totally keep it. Some Questions Has anyone had any...

Software updates on 2024 X vs Model Y/3

I have a 2023 XLR and 2019 M3P, both with FSD. In the time I have had both cars concurrently (7mos) they have both received updates with 1-2 days of eachother.

    2024 Efficiency Package

This is different than the acceleration shudder. Mine has that, too, but like you said, it is a mini van and I am not driving it hard at all, though that specific issue is still present during anything more than mild acceleration. I should have described it as a vibration or resonance since the...

    2024 Efficiency Package

Copy, so the X range already was reduced from 2023, then increased after the implementation of the efficiency package (software or otherwise), or did it just get reduced and is still at that reduced number? I am seeing 335mi range on Tesla.com right now, and I believe it previously stated...

    2024 Efficiency Package

With the alleged release of the upcoming "2024 Efficiency Package" for Model S, Y, X, I am looking to see if anyone has any information about these deliveries. Ideally, when they are going to start. Currently trying to thread-the-needle with ordering a Model X with these changes before the FSD...

    Deliveries of $80k X?

The Model X is a mini van. It's just a really cool/weird one.

Is the Model S worth it over the Highland M3?

Taking money out the equation completely, I'd pick an S-LR over a 3-LR. Biggest reasons being the additional utility of the fastback body style, better preformance, and significantly longer range.

Is the Model S worth it over the Highland M3?

While they are very different classes of vehicle and different sizes, I do struggle to see the value in spending nearly twice as much for the Model S. The new Model 3 is extremely nice and feels great. Considering the major price gap, I personally would pick a 3 over an S and here is why...

2023 Model S right scroll wheel and FSD Beta

This morning, for the first time ever, my Model X right scroll wheel brought up the pop-up card that allows for adjusting FSD/AP parameters, just like how the Model 3/Y work. Like the Model S, this right scroll wheel L/R has no function on the Model X. It was great to see, but I couldn't...

Vibration on brand new Model X at about 38mph to 60mph

My observations are the same. Above 70mph it starts to disappear and after 75-80mph it is completely gone and the ride quality is everything one would hope for from a Model X. I am hopeful that the "2024 efficiency package" introduces something - anything - improve this. I've been in touch with...

5 yr-old Model 3 smoother than brand new Model X

Vibration on brand new Model X at about 38mph to 60mph

Does anyone have a 2022 MXLR with these issues? Trying to figure out if it's 2023 specific. I test drove another 2023 MXLR yesterday and it was the same. I've confirmed this across (3x) 2023 MXLR now and it's awful. When I ordered the car I did an overnight demo of a 2022 MXLR and didn't...

Is the 2023 Model X suspension just not refined?

Speaking purely on the vibration at steady speed issue, (40-58mph) does the sway bar improve this at all? I can deal with the acceleration shudder, but cannot tolerate the vibration on smooth roads at those speeds. I'm in the middle of a buyback because of this issue and am supposed to sign the...

Any refresh MXs out there with MPP Solid Front Lower Bearings and/or UPP rear sway bars

I also have shaking when traveling at steady speed between 40-58mph, even on perfectly smooth surfaces. Did you experience that prior to the sway bar and did it improve after installing? I know the suspension is pretty crappy on small road imperfections, but I am mostly concerned about the...

New MXP Steering Turned All the Way Loud Noise Coming From the Wheels Area

This is likely the CV joints. Because of how the drive unit is mounted, the CV joints are already on the cusp of being at too great of an angle. When you turn the wheels, it exaggerates it even more and you are likely experiencing the CV joints binding.

Vibration on brand new Model X at about 38mph to 60mph

I did take another 2023 Model X for a test drive, and it was significantly worse. My vehicle does have the vibration for the first 2-3min as well that you mention; however, that does resolve and it different from the main issue. Tesla did not do NVH. They denied that there was an issue at all...

Vibration on brand new Model X at about 38mph to 60mph

I very much have exactly the same problem with my 2023 Model X and I am coming from a 2019 Model 3 Performance with 82k miles. Experiencing precisely the same issue you describe. I noticed the vibration on the drive home from delivery day in September and reported it to service within 1hr of...
