OCTOPUS are an absolute (bad) joke - beware of dealing with them

They are just another energy company. I am currently stuck with EDF and no one else will currently accept me as they installed a meter in 2017 which has never worked correctly. Going through the time consuming and frustrating complaints process….

    Route planning in the app

Good to see that out of order charger numbers are also listed plus easy to see prices and busy times.

How long to schedule a service appointment?

We have always found it easier to get a service appointment on site or via the ranger from Gatwick if it is an option for you. Dartford is very easily affected by M25 nightmares so the start times for appointments can be a bit unachievable. It just depends on how busy they are and whether the...

Trip to the service centre. We waited for the part to be available but service centre confirmed ok to drive.

UK Service centre experiences - the good and bad

Where we live we have the option of Dartford or Gatwick SCs. Earlier this year we had the control arms replaced and the electrical harness replaced at Gatwick. The work was completed in less than the estimated time (which has always been our experience whether Gatwick or Dartford). The only...

EV running costs starting to look expensive?

Sadly, I have been talking to EDF asking for just this for the past 3 years with no success. @Andywil, how did you manage to convince them, it was still possible to do it. Very polite, but not can do..

    Model Y Dog Guard

There are no regulations about restraining canines anywhere in your car. They can ride where you like, but in fairness to your hounds, you might like to think about what would happen to them in the unfortunate event that you or another driver have to stop very quickly. Vets say it is not very...

    Creaking suspension

Have recently had this fixed at Gatwick SC. Took approx 5 weeks for parts to come through and work to be done. They said they had done a lot of these. They also ordered the parts for and did the trunk lid harness while the car was in. Estimated it would take 4 hours and work completed in less...

    Model S dog crate

Hi Luke If you want to start off the training and have a suitable and strong cage, you might find that a standard cage attached with very strong straps to the child seat fixing points might work. We use one in a 3 to keep our cocker bitch safe and you can line it for comfort with vet bed...

    Front Mudflaps?

We installed ours when they were sent with the “full length” flaps and they soon stopped hitting speed humps as they moulded themselves. On country roads in winter they have cut down a lot of the spray onto the bodywork, although the clumps of mud do need washing off on a regular basis.

Issues charging Model 3 at home with Podpoint [UK]

Is there any reason why you cannot use the car to set the charging times for now? We have Podpoint and have never tried to set the charging through the Podpoint app. Originally this was because the original Podpoint app didn’t have the facility to set the charge times, so we have just left well...

CCS / Type 2 socket - charge cable not fully secured errors

We’ve had those messages too and, as they first started happening just after a software update, I had presumed it was just a software “issue”. 😏

superchargers with particularly good nearby facilities - and do you prioritise/divert?

If you don‘t like crowds and poor facilities, then I‘d give Darts Farm a miss as sometimes the traffic around the area can be at a standstill. Lifton has a deli and picnic benches if weather is good or alternatively a bar with facilities or a very nice hotel bar with excellent food. Camborne...

Tesco [VW sponsored Pod Point] charging for Tesla

So, we have been stranded in charging deserts like Dorset and have found that the Podpoint chargers at Tesco’s are normally working. You do need to use the Podpoint app most of the time and plan to use the maximum stay time (look out for the signs in the car parks). Podpoint app also controls...

    M3 SR+ Long-term Airport Parking

Can confirm on current software release, Sentry does get automatically turned off with a notification to the app if you are looking like running out of miles. And if you park in a busy airport car park, that is what happens.

    Packed Superchargers

On the way to Penzance from Kent today, Amesbury had plenty of space but Lifton had a queue around lunchtime. Icing on the cake was Camborne. No need to get involved with Genie Point or Swarco. What a relief.

Taken at Camborne this afternoon. On free vend while being completed. From the A30 go to traffic lights and turn left. Go into college grounds and charging area is on the left. Nimbus Kitchen (cafe) is in the FibreHub Building (opposite) for food, drink and facilities. The manager said that...

    Charging in Cornwall

Returning to the Cornwall issues, some of the chargers at Lifton are v3. As chargers in Cornwall, apart from at the supermarkets are unreliable, I would definitely check them out on Zap-Map chat before visiting and schedule in a stop at one of the SCs on the way in to top up. Darts Farm can...

We are the same as you. Car delivered September 2019 and tow hitch not under vehicle details but shown on the order and the final invoice. But we use ours for towing a folding camper.

Pod Point removing from app some public (Sainsburys) chargers?

We have recently returned from the charging desert otherwise known as Dorset (all chargers in public car parks broken) and were very grateful for the free Podpoints over the border in Devon. Only 2 hours parking allowed but enough to get us to a faster Lidl charger and then back to the amazing...

Lack of external noise and safety

I can confirm my dog has worked out when we are going out in the car as opposed to walking out from the house. She knows if the car is pre-warming and waits for me to open the door for her. Generally, I can confirm that the sound of the tyres is very audible to pedestrians and perhaps would...

    [UK] 2020.40.x

Had 2020.40.8 download 2 nights ago. Seems to have fixed our problems with waking up from the app. Software took an hour to install and seemed to fix a lot of issues that had been cumulatively affecting our 13 month old M3 SR+. Almost like it was driving when we first got it. Perhaps just a...

    Navigation audio - intermittent problem

Thank you so much @jmaddr and @Glan gluaisne at least I can now get the audio to play. I promise to spend more time reading the manual as, now I have been prompted, I can see it there. What still isn't clear is why sometimes the audio starts and other times it doesn't, when the volume controls...

    Navigation audio - intermittent problem

On our 3SR+ running 2020.36.11 we have an intermittent (but getting worse) issue with the navigation audio. It's hard to recall when it started but it has been around for a few months now. More often than not navigation audio no longer works. It doesn't seem to be affected by how or when the...

UK Model 3 and Dog Owners

If you really need to have a large dog e.g. lab or GSD, then apart from a well secured and well manufactured cage, the only way they can safely travel is in a Sleepypod car harness. They will need training to accept the harness or cage and they may or may not accept it - depending on how good...

    Dartford Delivery experiences

We collected from Dartford SC on a Saturday morning last year and it was all fine. Quite busy but we were all treated courteously and given time to ask questions after a short group guide round the car. When we were taken outside and introduced to our car the app was working and we were givens...

    A couple of questions please

Hi PaullOM We too were nearly put off order our Model 3 by needing to carry a dog but a kind sales person found pictures of an adaptation that someone in the States had made. Our dog is quite young so we thought she would probably adapt - and she didn't particularly enjoy riding in a car...
