    Sat Nav icon

Does anyone know what this icon represents? It only appears when a route is entered, and even then not all of the time. Sat Nav icon

    SatNav icon

What does this icon represent? I can't find a reference to it in the manual, and don't remember seeing it previously. Only appears when on a programmed route, and even then not all of the time. TIA Model 3 satnav icon

Managed to get my Model 3 to talk to my home automation system

Here is my current page for the car, with nice BIG buttons that are easy to use whilst driving - but it is always Work In Progress when it comes to HA. The images update once every ~10 seconds, but that is fine for my needs, and works well over the built in cellular data.

Managed to get my Model 3 to talk to my home automation system

I have created a car-specific dashboard page within my Home Assistant that just shows controls for - and a CCTV video feed of - my drive gate, two garage doors; works really well in my Model 3, and means that I can open the gate before I get to within RF range to use the fob to open (or close)...

    Questionable Bodyshop treatment of battery!!??

I am in no way wanting to minimise the poor way that you were treated, but I thought that I would add my experience. Someone reversed in to my Model 3, but thankfully he accepted full responsibility. His insurers, Admiral, sent it to VeeTec in Aldershot, and I have to say that my experience has...

Not the UK Supercharger Site News thread

I was on the first one by the entrance - so when looking towards them from the front no.8 in your message. I did pop in to look at the new spec M3, but didn't mention it. EDITED TO ADD: Looking at my TeslaMate stats, it went from 41% at 09:49:47 to 90% at 10:31:53 with almost a straight line...

Not the UK Supercharger Site News thread

Just been in to the Crawley (/Gatwick?) Supercharger site. For the entire visit (~40 mins), I was the only one using the SuperChargers. But that might be partly due to the site not being on the SatNav yet, I arrived with ~40% SoC, and set it to charge to 90%; admittedly without a pre-warmed...

Wiki UK and Ireland Supercharger Site News

I used the Heathrow Hilton SuC a few weeks ago. Lots of tumbleweed blowing through the car park, and the occasional numptie flying a drone whilst his car was charging. But the SuCs were working OK. Top Tip - ignore the "IN" lane / barrier which is down, just drive through the "OUT" as the...

Traction - or the lack of it

On two different (steep) drives, I consistently hear tyre(s) slipping for a short period, during which speed slows. After this short period the noise stops and traction & low speed return to normal. It is a) surprising that the wheels skid at all, and b) it is very different from my previous...

Traction - or the lack of it

I have a Long Range Dual Motor Model 3, and therefore both axles are driven. Not sure whether this makes it 4WD or not, but find that I loose traction when driving slowly up my driveway when it is covered with leaves. But unlike previous cars with "Traction Control", it never seems to bite /...

    Octopus Go versus Agile

FWIW I did some calculations and Agile would save me perhaps £50 a year tops, and I decided it wasn't a rabbit hole I wanted to go down. [x1 Model 3, 4kW solar, x1 Powerwall, cooking & heating on oil]

    Octopus Tesla Energy Plan

What I can't understand is why 8p/kWh is "better" than 5p/kWh on Go? I also understand that one has to forgo the deemed export part of ones FIT. That's not much (~£55pa), but it is worth having. Virtually all of our import is during the 5p rate window. [ Model 3, 4kW PV and x1 Powerwall ]

New Electric trunk photographed at factory

Interesting they look to be only powering one side (LHS strut); the Hansshow after market are on both AFAIK

    TeslaMate [megathread]

Thanks @DaveW - not quite sure how I managed it, but have now added both UK Superchargers and Destination chargers to my list of geofenced locations - previously I just had "Home". Great work!

    TeslaMate [megathread]

How would one do this if running TeslaMate within a Synology NAS Docker? TIA

    TeslaMate [megathread]

A couple of quick questions from a TeslaMate newbie; I installed it on a Synology NAS Docker container yesterday, and seemingly successfully imported all of my past TeslaFi data. The only problem I had was concerned with the initial lack of an /import folder which didn't seem to be covered by...

    Tebay supercharger for northbound travellers

Is this routing still available? Looking on Google Maps street view, the entrance to the southbound services from the local road has a sign saying No Access? Google Maps

New Octopus Go tariff and off peak options?

I've been with Octopus (Go) for just over 4 months; I have found their email service pretty poor, but a phone call normally sorts things out much quicker. Once the initial teething issues were ironed out I have been more than happy

How to choose between Octopus Agile and Go?

Interesting; I have only been on Go for 3 months, but looking at that link I would have been 5.8% better off on Agile than Go. Not a lot, but it would have been more had I changed time of use to suit Agile rather than Go. How much of a pfaff do you find changing EV charging times every day? I...

    Octopus API Query Help

I am on Octopus Go and would like to be able to gather my usage in a similar way; is this possible, and if so where would I look for how to set this up? TIA

How big is the screen wash bottle on a model 3?

According to the manual it is 3.5 litres.

    Considering getting a Powerwall

Ours cost ~£9k a couple of weeks ago, with very little additional wiring required.

New Octopus Go tariff and off peak options?

@jimbo_hippo - just as a matter of interest, why do you have "grey" bars between your peak and off peak times? On my new PW I have just got blue and orange areas, with no grey. Or have I done something wrong?

How do I get an Ulez for London?

Am I correct to think you have to pay £10 every year for the Congestion Charge waiver? If so, what a con!
