And thanks all!
Turns out it really was just a small rectangular neodymium magnet. Absolutely no idea how it ended off on my car...
Happy and only a little confused. :-)
I am assuming that in this case correlation doesn't mean causation. I now suspect that the squeak is unrelated, and possible I just spotted the magnet because I was trying to work out where the squeak was coming from.
Doh! I should have tried that. Thanks.
In that case, it is unlikely that it is something that went through (from outside or inside). I'll try pliers...
I have tried pushing it to the side with my thumb and it is having none of it, so it seems to have gone through the panel. (I think the bottom panel is plastic?)
What I am trying to work out is if it came from outside, i.e. something flying up from the road, somehow, and embedding itself...
or...
Returned home after a long journey. Noticed an intermittent "squeak" that seemed to be coming from the driver's side of the car. Been driving for a couple of days and the squeak keeps appearing, every now and then. This morning I noticed what seems to be a bit of metal (roughly rectangular...
I'm going to be putting my Model 3 through its first MOT in the New Year. A lot of the "issues" seem to be with the larger Teslas, so should I expect that KwikFit would be able to MOT my car, or should I look to go elsewhere (and where)?
Also planning on replacing my tyres. Should I go KwikFit...
Years back I used to attend the occasional meeting at one site that required me to join the M4 at Reading. I found that I could arrive at the site after 10:30, or before 09:30, but never between those times due to the peak period for traffic joining the M4 at that junction.
I was tempted, but it is a hell of a lot of money for something that is so dependent on UK regs changing, as well as the tech itself. (Still impressed with what the FSD beta can do, though.)
I had a similar experience when I first drove today after the recent software update. To be honest the message flashed up and I had no clue what it said, as it disappeared too quickly. It is only seeing this thread that I can recognize what the message was. I assume it is now all resolved, and...
Condensation? Misting? Ah, kids today, don't know they're born... ;-)
I'm waiting for a ranger to visit because I have actual water sloshing around in there. (You can hear it when the boot is opened, as well as seeing it sloshing.) Other than that, I'm loving the car. Just a little un-nerving...
Has anyone else found that their address isn't recognized by the Tesla App? (Or other parts of the Tesla infrastructure.)
Tried to make a service request (water sloshing in driver's side rear light cluster...) via the app. Selected type of issue, described the problem and uploaded photos. All...
Just went outside and discovered that the two rear windows of my M3 had opened ~1 inch. Is that related to overheat protection? Or just some odd anomaly? (Happily I caught it just prior to the rain...)
Do the AA carry pucks, etc? I have group AA cover for the family, and they claim to be able to do EVs, but feel "twitchy" about how they would deal with a M3. (Of course, I also have the Tesla cover that came with the car, so maybe a bit overkill...)
I had problems getting my phone to play music via Bluetooth on Friday (updated earlier in the week to 2020.8.1). Did a soft reset of the display and that seemed to fix it. Not sure if it is related to 2020.8.1 or "just one of those things".
I had thought that the £50k threshold was for the price before application of the grant, so I think that means that the grant will be gone for the AWD LR as well as the P.
Might be a US thing. Using my GPS as a baseline, I have always found that UK cars have always over-reported the speed by a few percent whereas when I'm in the US the speed is usually pretty much spot on. I know that the M3 RHD is built for the UK market, but it's US heritage might be showing?
I'd second that. I didn't have the cable with my car, asked the guy about it and he went off and brought me one. Very glad that I watched a "checklist" video. Other than that, the car (and delivery) was spotless. And loving the car. :-)
That wasn't the impression that I had. The email suggested that the money needed to have been verified by their folks in the US before they would release the vehicle.
Interesting how much variation in messaging there is.
I used to be with LV, but their assessment page seemed to provide odd/ambiguous definitions (added ~£300 to the quote if I interpreted it one way, and I really don't want to adopt the wrong interpretation on a quote.). I'll maybe just try calling them.
My current ICE car is insured with the AA. Thought I'd give them a whirl but their "request a quote" page lists Mode X, Model S, and the Roadster, but no Model 3. Anyone know if this is just the website, or are they not insuring Model 3s?
Had a decent quote from Direct Line. LV was pretty decent as well. I'm currently with the AA but on their "request a quote" site they listed the model S and X but no model 3. Going to phone them later today to see if they really don't touch it yet.
I'm less than a week before collection. Only comms from Tesla was the text message. When did you find out your license plate, and they sent the final invoice for payment?
Strange. My text just said that it had been scheduled for delivery. Only option was to confirm the date given or receive a new delivery date. No option for picking a preferred time.
Mine is a Heathrow collection on 27th, but I just replied with "NO". Hope I'm not going to regret it. Need to find a good number for Heathrow. Aaaarggghhhh!!!
