I know this isn't news to anyone, but holy smokes Fremont is a convoluted mess. Shanghai, Austin and Berlin look so much better than this. Can't hurt for margins and for quality, especially if Fremont looks like this on the inside too, in terms of layout.

Never heard of him before. In any case, there's almost nothing we can deduct from these tweets wrt the capability of the rewrite, even if this is genuine. I would recommend waiting a day or two for youtube videos to show up. Then we can judge for ourselves how good the new software is.

I don't really care for specific delivery milestones that much tbh. I just want to see ~50% CAGR for deliveries for the next 5+ years. If they manage that, the company as a whole is on a good trajectory.

The images aren't higher resolution unfortunately. I find it's easier to see the differences on the website, because you can switch between the images instantly there. Look at the parking lot to the left of the plant, then you should be able to see it.

Disagree. No matter how stupid you think somebody may be, that's not a reason to be happy when they won't buy your product anymore. Tesla is in the business of moving product, not cultivating virtuous supporters at the cost of sales.

Also, as Tesla scales it needs to increase it's TAM. The historical situation has been that 10% of the country loves Tesla (if that), and 90% are either indifferent or hostile. This is fine, and probably advantageous for a small business that needs a small number of high conviction customers...

Something to consider when estimating shift sizes based on parking lot pictures: Tesla has in the past heavily encouraged ridesharing due to parking limitations. I would be willing to bet they now heavily encourage not ridesharing to limit infection risk, so employees per car should be way down...

New satellite images on Buildingtesla show the Fremont employee parking lot about half full on Sunday, May 10th. It was completely empty on May 5th. This supports that Tesla has continued to restart production over the weekend.
