    Numberplate holders

Does anyone have any tips on removing the ugly numberplate holders on the front and rear of the M3 (UK)? I’ve just ordered those smart vinyl stick-on ones that look so good (with the green GB badge). I don’t want to damage the paint or bodywork. But am assuming I simply have to pull the front...

Supercharger: Royal Victoria Docks, London, UK

Yes, I just noticed that too. But I think that’s likely to be in a paid car park? I wish they’d stop putting them in car parks: they cost money to enter or have silly time restrictions, are often tight to navigate, and usually take longer to get to!

Supercharger: Royal Victoria Docks, London, UK

I don’t know whether the new fast ones at the Greenwich hotel are available during the pandemic. But it’s a pain to have to deal with parking fees and hotel receptions just to add 10 to 15 minutes worth of fuel. We need something in London like the new charging station at Braintree (which I...

    Camp Mode and Door Locks

Thank you so much: you are a genius!

Supercharger: Royal Victoria Docks, London, UK

I use this supercharger a lot as it’s local and relatively easy to access. No awkward car park entrances or charges to negotiate. Sadly, there’s now a sign saying it’s being decommissioned from 1 December 2020! I assume this is because the wretched Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has earmarked the...

    Camp Mode and Door Locks

A problem with Camp Mode is locking the doors when inside. If you lock from the touchscreen or via voice command, the car is secure even with your phone inside and the Bluetooth on. But it’s hard to reach the screen from the rear when the seats are down and you’re ready for bed. But if you lock...

    Software update 2020.32.3

Having just done a very successful, incident-free drive to Switzerland and back, I updated to 2020.32.3 last week and then had two alarming autopilot incidents on a very familiar U.K. trip. First, driving in the middle lane at exactly 70mph, the M3 slammed on the brakes whilst passing a huge...

    Coronavirus

Interesting. But I don’t think I was being paranoid when I posted this, long before the UK and the world went into lockdown. After all, the BBC still reports that the virus may live on hard surfaces for several days: Covid-19: How long does the coronavirus last on surfaces? That’s the BBC, not...

    Coronavirus

I should add, the manual says: Touchscreen Clean the touchscreen using a soft lint-free cloth specifically designed to clean monitors and displays. Do not use cleaners (such as a glass cleaner) and do not use a wet wipe or a dry statically-charged cloth (such as a recently washed microfiber)...

    Coronavirus

Is it safe to clean the touchscreen with something like Dettol or antiseptic skin wipes? I usually just use the supplied microfibre cloth slightly dampened. But with all the official advice about the C-19 virus, was thinking it may now be time to take greater precautions to help prevent the...
