Master Thread: Model 3s on the Track / drag strip- Videos, Discussion, Setup, Etc

I was at VIR this weekend, te firefighters squad came by my paddock spot and said Tesla was coming in 2 weeks. Could not get more info. The firefighters came to me to look at the car and ask for where to "cut" in case of accident. Strange since they already had read the info Tesla docs for...

Has Tesla altered Hold Mode recently?

That's also my impression but it could be related to the battery system conditioning, it's colder outside. I'm waiting to see how it will behave when the weather will get warner. I really liked one pedal driving but it gets a little disconcerting when it does not always behave the same way....

Lug nut torque, wheel specific or hub/studs specific

Yes my new wheels come with lug nuts, I will ask the vendor if there's different specs for these. Thanks a lot!

Lug nut torque, wheel specific or hub/studs specific

The model 3 Perf std wheel (20") lug nuts torque is specified at 129 lbs-ft. If you put after market wheels (19"), is the lug nuts should be also set at 129 lbs-ft? And a general question: Is it defined by the hub/studs (car maker) or the wheel manufacturer? Thanks Pierre

Would 595 rs-pro 255/35ZR19 96Y XL wide enough ? My limiting factor being 8.5" rims on front wheels. Or 255 fronts and 275 rears (9.5" wide rims in the rear).

    Track week-end comments

If you look at the track there's really only 3 corners where you need to really brake and only one that would justify race pads. Regen + a little braking is sufficient in the other ones. That's what I meant, I was trying to describe the carbotech pads behaviors where they really were useful...

A lot of braking power and I did not use it a lot, only before the hairpin did I have to brake hard, most of the time regen braking was good enough and seemed to get things go smooter, that's probably why I can get better times if. Wait and break harder. The funny thing is that the pads were...

    Power off and parking breaks

I should have more explicit. I installed the OBD2 add-on cable connecter at the back of the center console. You obviously have to have the power off. I was asking if the park breaks stays on when you power off. I did press the park button with foot on brake for 4 secs. It stays, but I put...

I, myself and I installed my new MPP FUCA yesterday :). It went just fine with some notes: 1- The new MPP FUCA design is different than the one in the MMP installation docs. 2- Some stuff seems to be different on the 2020 LR Performance than on the docs, specialy the fender liner I think 3- The...

Is it me or the driver seat is not centered on the streering wheel (or the contrary) :)

Is it me or the driver seat is not centered on the streering wheel (or the contrary) :)

I had a 2017 Mazda MX-5 ND and that was the first Miata with the seat centered they say.... :)

Is it me or the driver seat is not centered on the streering wheel (or the contrary) :)

It "looks" centered from standing in front but I always feel like I'm sitting more on the left side of the seat and it's anoying. I know that I'm "old and crippled" but none of my other cars feel or felt like that.
