    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Yep, just got it. If I'm reading things correctly we will save $4k.

Nice. I wish I had an earlier option!

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I just received the delivery SMS for Chatswood - scheduled for the 22nd of July. MY LR from Grand Eagle.
  4. H

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

You're likely right. I pinged my SA about the date range and they replied "Not too far off now!". 🤣

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

My Model Y LR delivery from Grand Eagle has moved to July 21 - August 11.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

In good news this is nothing like the wait for the original Model S back in 2012/13/14.
  7. H

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Same here. The waiting game continues. Amusingly we've had the insurance running agains the car for 2 weeks now - it's time to get that paused until delivery.

    Will do!

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

This will be our 15th Tesla (every other one has been an S or X) - lack of customer service is a feature not a bug. 🤣

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Still waiting here for a Model Y LR from Grand Eagle. I'm hoping it falls into FY24 as it will save us $80 of LCT.

Model X front doors un-able to open or close when car tilted

Thanks for the replies. So it sounds like then that my issue is unique - I wonder if it has something to do with being an early RHD car. I definitely wouldn't say the slopes I've been on have been severe at all (maybe 10 degrees at most) so it's quite unusual that it is refusing to open. It's...

Model X front doors un-able to open or close when car tilted

We just took delivery of our Model X last week and we immediately noticed an issue with the front doors. If the car is tilted at all, from left-to-right or vice versa, then the higher door is unable to open itself and the lower door is unable to close itself. As an example, if I'm pulled up the...

    Bowral meetup - January 17

Ok NSW, we need 25! Shouldn't be hard as there are around 300 here.

    Bowral meetup - January 17

We will be there and we need to make sure there are more than 22 cars so we beat QLD!

    Hot weather range

mhh, you should be fine. Just set your cruise to 90km/h and cool the cabin to around 21C. The aircon is very efficient and the higher temperatures will lower wind resistance so I'm confident you can make it (I've done it easily).

Looking for Tesla to rent over the holidays while travelling in Australia

My wife is the owner so I'm obviously biased but... $150 an hour is quite cheap in Australia for a luxury chauffeur service.

    Supercharger - Gundagai NSW

Emails have been sporadically sent out (I haven't received one) but there appears to be a Sydney to Melbourne rally happening on the 26th.

Tesla Model S (Adelaide, South Australia)

I did the trip from Melbourne to Adelaide and back via Raidis Estate over the weekend. The owners of Raidis are really lovely and there are a decent number of eateries in town, which is about a 20min walk. Blog post will be coming this weekend.

    Supercharger - Goulburn NSW

I guess so. Charging worked as advertised and honestly it was a lot of fun (especially as I left Sydney at 5am).

    Supercharger - Wodonga VIC

We've already done it, it's a piece of cake.

Simon Hackett selling his first Roadster

Correct, it is a different car. The record breaker was LHD and the one for sale is RHD.

    Evoke.limo - our experience

All good, Pia doesn't mind that her name was mentioned. Thanks for the review Matta!
  24. H

    Supercharger - Gundagai NSW

I've done it, it's not that bad at all (there's some downhill to assist).

Companion EV for a Model S ? Nissan Leaf maybe ?

I really like the look of the Renault Zoe as a second car. Does anyone else agree?

EVTripPlanner vs Model S planning and range assurance

I've found the car's energy planning to be very accurate. EVTP appears to have an issue with hills in that it overestimates how much you'll use going up and underestimates how much you'll get coming down.

New Tesla video looks to be shot in Australia

Can confirm that it was filmed at the GOR as Tesla had to borrow some of my equipment for the shoot.

Perceived Quality of Tesla Model S P85D in long term Consumer Reports testing

My wife now owns 2 Model S and all the "issues" that you are complaining about are not issues in the slightest: Door Handles - DOA handles are still an issue (as are DOA issues for many different components of many cars) but it's very rare for a handle to stop functioning months after arrival...

    Supercharger - St Leonards NSW

That's a shy over 100kW so perhaps it can draw that much when the showroom is completely closed. However, it should be able to pull 120kW at that state of charge, so I assume upgrades are not complete.

    Supercharger - Richmond VIC

Those figures are still nominal though... Do you think something has been changed?

How many suitcases can we carry?

I'm picking up 4 friends and their respective luggage from the airport and I was wondering if anyone has managed to fit 4 full size suitcases in the trunk? In theory it's possible, I'm just hoping someone has done it.

Spotted in Australia and New Zealand

That's strange. The Star should charge at 120kW max whilst St Leonard's is limited to 90kW max.

    Tesla and Australian Car Sales

I think they will easily do 3 a day here. At Sydney they seem to be delivering 2-3 a day at the moment and they are always booked full for test drives.

    Issues with the car

That's how they are from the factory (it's weird and I don't understand their decision making there).

2014 Q4 Earnings Report and Conference Call

Are you counting deliveries as sales? If so, the Australian sales are too high. 30 cars were delivered at most, possibly less.

Spotted in Australia and New Zealand

Meloccom, you were spotted by one of my friends today. I saw a white one in Manly on Friday, anyone know who that is? I also spotted a green one sitting next to our car last night:

    Tesla in Australia

Same here. What's the point in driving the future if it acts like the past?
  48. H

    Tesla in Australia

It depends on the angle. Shallow angles may not trigger it whilst steeper angles will.
  49. H

    Tesla in Australia

EVTripplanner actually gets this trip very wrong. From my experience you use around 135km on the way up and around 20-30km on the way back. I believe it very conservative when it comes to downhill regen.

    Tesla in Australia

You should be perfectly fine on that route, I wouldn't worry about it in the slightest.
