    Thinking about a red Plaid

To answer OP question: I am not paranoid about the paint, no wrap, no ppf, use car wash (touchless). Got it in September 2021. Still looks awesome.

    DIY Tesla Drive Unit Repair

Cool! I leased MD B class for three years while waiting for M3 (could not get my wife out of our MS). It was great little car. Initially, I wanted RAV4 but it was not available in my state. It's great to see that people are still driving these cars. And fixing them.

Thoughts on Yoke from Plaid owner

Where is the damn steering wheel!? But look at the unobstructed view. BTW, all cars in this row are electric, about a dozen or so. (Trigger warning) you are looking at Betamax or HD DVD, better technology hardly ever wins. :)

First no charger, now no key fob, what's next??

Not really. For first time buyer, it would be easier to keep charger and FOB in the overall price. For those who know, they can back out what they do not need. But regardless, this is a dick move on Tesla part.

First no charger, now no key fob, what's next??

While my order for Plaid+ was switched to Plaid, I looked around but could not find anything better. Ultimately, I decided to stay with Tesla, charging network made the decision easy. But now they will open charging network to other manufacturers, taking that edge away. Elon's head is about to...

Or BMW users need to pay monthly to use seat warmer. But if I wanted Porsche or BMW I would not be here.

First no charger, now no key fob, what's next??

For first time EV purchase, trying to figure what is needed or not, is not easy. While chargers are now posted on the order page, FOB are not. How would you know that the car does not come with FOB? They don't mention it on the order page. And they still have that stupid "potential" saving...

Recall: Retrofit Hydraulic Control Unit Wake-Up Wire

I made another appointment to fix Autopliot. As always, the communications are not existent. Ellon has been talking about improving service. Can't wait but my expectations are very low.

    I Ordered a Taycan

That is very nice car, I almost bought it. While waiting for Plaid, test drove Taycan but not CT (was not available). It felt closer to M3, I had both at that time. Ended up waiting for Plaid, maybe next time. Another consideration is that CT clocks in at $190k versus $136k. Range is about 100...

Recall: Retrofit Hydraulic Control Unit Wake-Up Wire

Found this thread after having "Retrofit HCU Wake-Up Wire" done today. I was wondering what this is supposed to fix. I went in for not working Autopilot and they did this, plus they checked tires pressure and tread depth (did not ask for it). Also, they performed "Update Vehicle Firmware to...

Zoom out to nearby chargers in phone app

Aaand, it's fixed now: 2022.12.3.3. Rejoyce, until next "update".

Zoom out to nearby chargers in phone app

I am sure Apple will say that it's a privacy feature, keeps location of my car vague.

Zoom out to nearby chargers in phone app

Tapping on car does not work on phone app. You can tap on the screen: two quick taps will zoom in. But in my area, it takes about 20 taps to zoom to street level. Pinch to zoom is quicker. Oh well, just need wait for another "update".

Zoom out to nearby chargers in phone app

This drives me crazy: for some reason when using phone app (Iphone 4.8.1-1032), when I go to location, as a default, maps zooms out showing nearby chargers. It was not like that until couple of weeks ago. Maybe I clicked something but clicking around does not bring back old behavior. Of course...

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

I have both CT and Rivian on order. CT may be too big; I will wait until they have some real specs. And hopefully test drive. I had an order for X, ended up cancelling after test drive. It felt heavy and confined.

What other vehicles do you own?

Golf cart! With lithium battery. It gets me to 80% of my "required" destinations. After many years of owning 3-4 cars at the same time, we are down to one. That is the best way to save the environment. Not marriage, but I am happy to let my wife to do the driving. I just sit in the back, relaxed.

My 2017 MS was almost $95k. I paid $3k for FSD or ~3% of overall price. Never used FSD as it's still not available. Only for some highway driving. I knew chances of actually using it were slim but I wanted to support Tesla FSD development. But $10k is too much (~7%), so I did not buy it this...

Yes, Gen2 versus Gen1. I came from 2017 MS that was Gen1. I use portable charger to charge at home hence the need for more amperage. NEMA 14-50 can go up the most, provided your plug has 50 amps circuit breaker.

Just like Apple that keeps changing chargers so that one has to keep buying new adapters, with Gen2 charger Tesla made old adapters obsolete. I had to purchase new 10-30 a and 14-50 for travel, in addition to 110 (as the charger comes only with that). You have Gen2. Since 2018, all Tesla model...

Greenwich by 10am? Grandpa. But seriously, stay away from 87 and Cross Bronx. Merritt to Hutch, 9A and GWB. Greenwich charger on Merritt is not bad. Tight and ICE park at charger but there is coffee shop there. Charge for 15-20m tops.
