Triggering markings recognition with park assist?

Could be that it’s in your home location. Wonder if it would work in a neighbors garage.

FSD V12 (end to end AI)

That seems so strange. I had the opposite experience when an oncoming driver crossed the line. My 2021 MS actually steered toward the curb to avoid a collision. I took over too quickly to see how far it would have gone. And didn’t honk the horn to get a recording of what just happened. Clearly...

    Angela Chao accident

Great point, rear doors become traps for anyone if a rear child lock is engaged and you don't know how to bypass. Never really thought about it before electric locks. Now I wonder how my 2012 Tundra rear locks worked.
  5. C

    Angela Chao accident

OMG that is the stupidest design ever. I've owned three MS's since 2012, tons of hrs vacuuming rear seats and never notice these cutouts. Not the most intuitive design and pretty sure Tesla would lose any lawsuit involving it. It's not obvious enough when life threatening under pressure. You...

    Angela Chao accident

I've never been in a car submerging. Wonder how deep it has to go before the outside pressure would prevent opening the door manual or electric. My 2021 MS Plaid has both electric and manual door opening ability on the front but only electric on the rear doors. The wife saw something about her...

The Cybertruck's fatal flaw that they don't want you to know:

Hold on boys and girls. Pretty sure Sandy M's CT breakdown is going to clear this up soon!

Is the semi wind shield rock proof?

But wait that was the whole point on the semi! Saving thousands of $ annually by not needing to replace rock damaged windshields. This actually was a big deal to the trucking community. As to the CT's failure. Clearly Elon thought it was rock proof. Why else would he have Franz throw steel...

Is the semi wind shield rock proof?

God Not sure how we got to the CT's glass fiasco. My question was about the Semi. I've not seen anything verifying that the semi's has the promised rock proof windshield Elon referenced. So I'll ask again. Has anyone seen reference to rock protection, hardened Tesla glass on the Semi? Or is it...

Is the semi wind shield rock proof?

The special "Armor Glass" on Tesla's Semi truck is a breakthrough that you can't... ummm, break through. During Elon Musk's Tesla Semi announcement, he noted that the Semi's glass will be completely impact-resistant. This is critical as Semi trucks suffer from broken windshields about once every...

Is the semi wind shield rock proof?

During the semi press releases I thought Tesla claimed the windshield was going to be rock proof. But now that it’s here I can’t find anything to support that in any where. Things do change during production e.g. the CT was suppose to kneel and have a telescoping tailgate. Anybody know...

    Cyber trucks are rusting….

I had a 2012 Tundra that had similar rust spots on the paint in the bed. Thought it was rusting thru. It was surface dots like this. Buffed out fine. I didn’t believe the detailer but it never came back.

    Cybertruck is a scam.

I’m not a CT fan and bought a Lightning last summer. But I don’t feel the level of betrayal many feel here. I did get caught in the Plaid+ fiasco so I do know Elon’s failures. Funny how the Elon sycophants just ignore what we have on tape. Somehow they just rationalize away the failures. I...

    Cybertruck is a scam.

I had iron contamination on my new 2012 Tundra. It was weird because it was on the outside of the paint. Buffed out fine but because it was paint no one thought the truck was rusting.

The F-150 Lightning Is not what I expected - Anyone else feel the same?

I’m sure the adapter works fine. Cable lengths are just too short. Been to a couple of V3 chargers and measured. About 3 feet short. You’ll be hearing the complaints soon as folks realize they can only charge by blocking other stalls to get close enough. I suspect Farley was on the end charger...

    Ram 1500 Charger - 2025

Yea the base i3 was a battery ev. The extend version was a hybrid just like a Toy Prius. Here’s Toyota’s website. 2024 Toyota Prius | Toyota.com Gee right on the front page it says hybrid. There are other hybrids and that’s not bad. It’s just not in the same thing as a Lightning or CT with...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I don’t understand how half the SP posts are whining. In spite of all these great advances e.g. FSD, bots, dojo and record breaking production and sales we are still way down. But then none of the supposed achievements make $. I look at my statements. The numbers don’t lie.

    Norway FTW

Unfortunately we don’t have a gov that is interested in the future. Even with the evidence that the emissions dropped dramatically due to the reduction in driving during Covid. Support by foreign gov like china and Norway are the reason they lead. We won’t even be considered a follower. Just...

Cyber(nota)truck even more Not a truck than I first thought

I really don't understand the anti CT threads particularly here on TMC. Don't get me wrong I don't like the CT and will not trade my Lightning in for one. BUT the criticisms just seem over the top. Bordering on hate. It's just not that bad. I can't even imagine why folks thought the tonneau...

Would FSD Have Avoided a Head-On?

I did have FSD avoid a head on. I live in rural WA and the main roads into town are two lane. I’m not a heavy user of FSD and don’t completely trust it. So when engaged I still monitor everything and stay ready to take over (Yea I know that’s kind of what you’re suppose to do). A few years ago I...

Rivian seemingly plans to reveal R2 on Mar 7 at flagship Laguna Beach store

God I’m so sick of all the childish neg posts about other electric truck’s. There’s plenty of room in the pool for all! Just because I don’t care for the CT or Rivian doesn’t mean they are bad at all. Just not for me. There are plenty of great things about each. Even here on TMC there are so...

    Cybertruck is a scam.

But it’s the extreme launch speeds that eliminate any washing requirements.Bird crap just burns off! This inherently superior design characteristic is blatantly obvious to all! The beast will not require washing. Just super blasts on the highway.

Anyone else think this is a slap in the face for long term FSD buyers?

I like it! Geeze you could put them in a bunch of vehicles (including ice) and bam ya got an instant robotaxi fleet! Brilliance!

Anyone else think this is a slap in the face for long term FSD buyers?

Slap in the face? Wonder how all those Roadster orderers feel seeing Elon start yet another revolutionary path that doesn’t even remotely bring their product to market or even increase the sp. Or existing owners that have to pay tens of thousands for an out of warranty battery replacement. No...

    Cybertruck is a scam.

Wow I’m not sure why it would crack. I’ve had three MS’s since 2013 and never had a windshield crack. Was this on your MS? Guess you must have had this happen before on your other Teslas. Sorry you’ve got to deal with this.

    Cyber Squat?

I noticed that the CT body in our local showroom was very low. The salesman said it has multiple (I think three) settings to raise and lower the entire body. Range Rover had this in the late 80's. They called it kneeling to let you board. No independent rear squatting on the CT. This was...

The Cybertruck is more expensive to supercharge than a Ford F-150 costs in gas

Not if you slow down. Went thru our first set of tires on a 2013 P85 in about 22k miles. After replacement and having gotten used to the acceleration our next set lasted 25k. Third was about 33k. Just had to stop blasting it off the line.
  34. C

The Cybertruck is more expensive to supercharge than a Ford F-150 costs in gas

We pay 8.16 cents/kwh in Vancouver WA Never charge away from home. But then I have plenty of range for my dally needs. Have owned three MS’s since 2013 with free supercharging but rarely used it.

    Cybertruck is a scam.

But at least we have the word Plaid on our trunk instead of that stupid square. Kind of makes our cars limited production vehicles! I’m sure I’d see a much higher resale value if I decided to sell.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Not hard to mount any kind of campaign when you do/say tons of really strange things. You’re right I am sure of what I see. But I do love the company. I wonder just how far he’s going to have to go to get those die hard ignor all evidence fan boys. Geeze i thought Jobs was an arrogant idiot...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

God I'm sitting on $45k from a Wells Fargo bond (3.55%) call and wish I could just buy more Tesla. Been a Tesla investor since 2012 but Musk's outside of the company antics make me really hesitant about anything Tesla. I was pleasantly surprised at the number CT's produced and believe the model...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Not sure why anyone would quote her regarding Tesla. Her sp estimates have not been even remotely correct in years. Whole lot of sparkle about what could be but nothing translated into higher sp's.
  40. C

Why not show estimated range (based on recent driving trends) instead of rated range?

Ford's attempt at estimated range is so bad that Lightning owners call it GOM for guess o meter. It actually increases range anxiety. Not even close to accurate. There are tons of reasons Lightning owners decide to dump their truck quickly and at the top of the list is the confusion Ford's...

    Launch is Imminent

You're so right but don't bother trying to explain this to the fevered faithful. The ONLY place the term exoskeleton is even referenced is in the animal world in exactly the way you described. Insects, crustaceans, etc. They don't even try to apply it to say a turtle because it actually has an...

    Launch is Imminent

I just posted a Welcome to the early adopter club response to this effect on one of the Lightning forums. Guys complaining about all the stuff wrong on their new to the market Lightning's. Launch is Imminent

Borderline adequate is not what I’d expect for the $ their asking. Folks tried to sue Tesla over FSD accidents even though they were completely aware of limitations. Just wait until someone backs into something with the tonneau closed and a rear display covered with water/grime. God knows...

    Launch is Imminent

With that many miles towing I assume you have those huge side mirrors designed for towing to see anything useful. They extend way out to give you a great rear view. Try doing it with normal side mirrors. It doesn’t work. That’s why they include oversized mirrors on big tow packages. It’s a much...

    Launch is Imminent

I commented about this before. Tesla has never fixed the fog up and covered with water rear camera MS. I’m on my third MS and it’s been the same since day one. When it’s rainy and wet the rear camera quickly becomes unusable. As in you can’t see anything. Sure you can get out and clean it off...

Mine appears and disappears. Kind of fun to see the unexpected at times. Just of like the auto park prompts!

How many of you will/may transition to CyberTruck?

Yea it’s been a challenge to get used to all the buttons (Not sarcasm). Made worse by a horribly organized manual with not nearly enough pics. Tiny buttons on the bottom of the front dash next to the steering wheel. After three MS’s it has been a challenge going back to traditionally designed...

How many of you will/may transition to CyberTruck?

You‘re right on the tec front. The Lightning software is incredibly bad (multiple vendors and really poorly thought thru design). I own one and love it’s in spite of these deficiencies. I was a Tesla earlier adopter and lived with things they got wrong. The only difference is that Ford can’t fix...
