Particularly if it's not leaking, you might want to balance the opportunity for a less-than-excellent outcome (my situation)...
I bought a fob for the MXP. I used it for a bit, but I kept activating it in my pocket accidentally at inappropriate times... so I rarely use it now. I don't miss it.
I just saw you had posted this, @msnapper .
I think my 2022 must have been made on a Friday afternoon. As I've posed on TMC before, the hatch was poorly aligned. The finish work on the body around the hatch was poor. I'm really not sure how much of the misalignment was due to the hatch and how...
You may find the PPF makes this issue invisible.
I'd never pay $6K+, either. I've installed Drive Protected PPF on each of our Teslas myself, with the help of my wife & kids. I've found that Eric has great videos & support. One needs to be patient, but I think anyone can do this.
Best wishes...
In addition to the goo-gone method, some of us have used shoe laces with great success. I broke down & bought the special torx socket to remove the plate holder from the block, but I understand some have used vice grips or pliers with success.
There are stories out there of unhappy endings with body shop realignments of the liftgate. I, personally, would not do that again. Here's some advice on doing it yourself.

Here is a link to pictures of my 2023 Ultra Red S next to a 2022 Multicoat Red S (iPhone), as well as some pictures a couple hours later of just the Ultra Red car compared to an X-Rite Color Checker (Hasselblad X1D II 50C). Enjoy...
Mine from the November 2022 delivery was not well-applied at the factory. One was not adhered at the top. Usually I've found the San Antonio team is top notch, but they didn't do well on the replacement, either. Oh well, the next one I'll apply myself!
I have big bezels in the back of my 2022 delivered in November.
Bezel may not be the correct word, but "Big Bezels in the Back" is fun to say.
I feel a song comin' on!
Thanks for posting your experience. We're about to move our level 2 charger to a 60A circuit from 30A.
Also, glad to know our CPS partner was so helpful in this instance. And, I agree, the Tesla San Antonio team is top notch. Happy charging!
THEY'VE GONE TO PLAID!
We took delivery of our MXP a day early on the afternoon of 27 July 2022. Now, all I have to say to the rest of you wanting my impression is...
SO LONG, SUCKERS!
Jk. I need to go back to page 1920 to see what I've missed the past few days. Spreadsheet updated.
The San...
I can't say how ours would have held up without PPF, but we took a rock in the first week of ownership to the hood of the M3P, and the PPF saved the day. Glad we added it to the front ends (hood, bumper, front fenders) of both the M3P & MYLR right away, DIY. PPF through Drive Protected... just a...
We have these in the M3P & MYLR. I wish they had these for the refreshed MX... but not yet. We went with the Tesmanian mats. They're unfolded & sitting in the garage awaiting our scheduled delivery this week.
Thanks for the link to that—I had forgotten where I had seen it. It will be interesting to see when & how (if?) that methodology is implemented.
If you have the service manual subscription you can see that the present implementation is, indeed, fans...
Hmm... I thought it sucked?
We don't have our MXP yet, but our Saab, VWs, & Caddies that had this feature sucked.
Sucked the air through the seats, that is. Otherwise they were wonderful cars!

OT, but not irrelevant to this group...
Here are all the demonstrator vehicles available at the San Antonio showroom on 16 July 2022.
The fabulous San Antonio team told us they expect it will be a couple of months before they have models to show.
Tesla reached out this morning at 1106 and requested we schedule delivery. We've elected a 29 July 2022 appointment. We also plan to trade our 2021 MYLR.
From my discussions yesterday with the fabulous San Antonio team, the challenge has not been getting these cars to the rail yard in...
The following two items are from the charger manual:
WARNING: Do not forcefully fold or apply pressure to any part of the Wall Connector or damage it with sharp objects.
WARNING: When transporting the Wall Connector, handle with care. Do not subject it to strong force or impact or pull, twist...
Our 2022 X Plaid rate is about $400 more per year than our 2021 MYLR rate. Doesn't really answer your question, I know, but there's a data point for you. USAA.
