    Supercharger - Mildura, Vic

So pumped for this. As mentioned earlier I head up to Mildura weekly. So sick of relying on 50kw chargers for long distances. Makes an already long drive longer and a large charge up for the return leg very time consuming. From Bendigo to Mildura I was able to make it comfortably in normal...

    Powerwall 3 Roadmap - 3 Phase Coming!

I'm just waiting until it gets released. I have a 10kw 3 phase inverter which is on its last legs and will need replacement soon. Starting to make some buzzing noises. Was installed around 2016 before we bought the house. ABB brand so no idea about warranties or anything. Am just thinking I'll...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Wifi connection and opening the software tab on the car settings to let it search for an update. Will let you do a manual search this way once in a 24 hour period. If a software update is out, I find most of the time this manual search will bring it up. Otherwise if just letting the car find it...

    Supercharger - Mildura, Vic

The M3LR is much more efficient on the trip, especially once you get into the 110kmh part past Wedderburn. With the M3 I know I can make it from home to Mildura CBD in one go. Don't really think about it just drive up. With the MY, I have to monitor the consumption graph coming up to Ouyen as...

    Supercharger - Mildura, Vic

Yep. Work up there a fair bit. Can sometimes go a couple of weeks without heading up, then can go a month or two where it is at least once a week. I don't mind the drive too much. Very easy, not too busy, easy to overtake and can chill out and relax. Will be much nicer once I can get a heaps...

    Supercharger - Mildura, Vic

I have my fingers crossed pretty hard for this. Will be a game changer for me. I drive Bendigo to Mildura once or twice a week in my MYLR or M3LR. Can get up in 1 go in good conditions from a 100% charge with about 2-5% remaining, but there are only 50kw chargers in Mildura so it is a 1 - 1.5...

A fair while. I feel at least 6 months. Could be longer.

    Supercharger - Kilmore, Vic

If you live from about South Morang/Epping or further north you are most definitely going the Northern Highway to Bendigo, and from further south if at any time there is traffic on the ring road/Calder. Up to Wallan, through Kilmore and onwards to Bendigo. Used to drive it nearly every day for...

    Supercharger - Kilmore, Vic

Is on the run from northern suburbs of Melbourne to Bendigo or Echuca. Pretty good location. More the merrier. Starting to get like fuel stations slowly but surely. Just need 1 or 2 on the run up to Mildura from Bendigo.

    Supercharger - Stawell, Vic

Much cheaper than my V8 patrol. Apples oranges and all that.

Model Y Tow Package available soon from Tesla Australia

Thanks for all that info. Looking at the EV stealth website, for the model Y bar with the 7 pin flat trailer plug, does anyone know if the plug wiring harness is fully plug and play, or does it require some splicing or joining to the car wires? Just that I would need to DIY as I live...

Model Y Tow Package available soon from Tesla Australia

Can you elaborate? Not on that forum. I messaged the website and they were straight back to me with answers to the questions I had. The company has shown up to a few EV shoes and such. Seemed to me they were trustworthy enough.

    Superchargers in Australia

Fingers are well and truly crossed for Mildura. Can make it in 1 go from 100% in my 3LR from Bendigo, but only options there are 2x 2 stall 50kw chargers. Very slow if needing a large charge up to get back to Bendigo. From 5% to about 95% you are looking at 1.5 hours or slightly longer as the...
  14. S

    Superchargers in Australia

Mildura would be great. I can make it from Bendigo to Mildura in my M3LR with about 3% left normally. only a couple of options there, which are both 50kw, so very slow when you need to get a good fill up before the return trip.

    Evie EV charging networks

She can't tap a card on a card reader? Not sure she should be driving any type of car if that is out of her level of competence. How does she manage to fill up with petrol, walk into the servo, pay, walk out and drive away?

    Model Y Accessories for Australia

Don't bother. It's rubbish. Came with my Y and has come out very quickly. It's not retractable or anything, just sort of concertina folds up on itself but not well, so It won't stay put folded up. If looking to buy one, I would look at an aftermarket one to save yourself some money as well as...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Tell him he is un-Australian. Say you bought your EV to support Aussie mining jobs in Lithium as well as coal miners, while his ICE vehicle is powered by Middle Easterners financing terrorism and such things. Make's their heads spin. Usually my go to comment to those nutters. They don't know...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

There is an option to turn the suggested supercharger routing off in the navigation options. Just do that. It is far too conservative anyways to be useful. Just plan your stops if needed and put them into the navigation as per normal. Worry no more.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I'd love to see that. The speed limit recognition for 110kmh signs in rural areas is very poor, especially at night. It is better than it was but still a long way to go. FSD 12 does away with the computer reading speed signs completely. Uses AI to mimic the speed that people drive in that part...

    Aussie queues this long weekend

I can see you're a full blown EV/Tesla lover. All good. I like them too. Own 2x Teslas. You need to look past the whole they are perfect the way they are now. If EV is to go mainstream it has a whole lot of big problems to fix and quickly before they get more popular, then piss everyone off and...

    Aussie queues this long weekend

Hopefully it does. It is the reality of travelling at peak times. The more bad press it gets hopefully spurs on more investment and more chargers. Problem is there is just no profit in it at the moment which mates companies reluctant to spend big on big number of stalls as they only get use in...

    Aussie queues this long weekend

Absolute zero chance I'd take my M3 now on the same road trip I did with it last year at Christmas from Melbourne to Gladstone back to Gold Coast then home. Was busy enough then but didn't have to wait at any chargers even with the multiple broken ones through QLD. Helped having a LR as I...

Australian MYLR to get Acceleration Boost?

This is great news. Due to get my LR in the next week or so. Wasn't too happy about the car being slower than my 3LR. Can fix it on delivery day now. Good stuff.
  24. S

    Superchargers in Australia

Yes plus not too many cars doing 8L/100km highway driving. Most modern vehicles would be around 6L I reckon, at least our ICE ones do. Our VF commodore wagon 3.6L V6 does a pretty solid 7-8L/100kmh and it is old tech big engine.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

So stop complaining about Tesla not personally approaching you? 30k kms is hardly much driving. I did 45k kms in the last 12 months in my M3 and another 15k kms in my ford ranger, and I hardly feel like that is many Kms compared to many many other people. Back to software, weird TACC problem...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

You should have applied when the jobs were advertised if you feel that strongly about it. With that experience I'm sure you would have got a gig. One of my mates is doing it. 12 hour shifts behind the wheel on V12 in Victoria. Multiple cars doing it running around 24 hours a day basically. He...

    Tesla Model Y-LR in Australia

Ah I just same in to ask this. Should hopefully have my Y LR some time before the end of the month and was going to be my first purchase day 1. Am coming from a 3 LR and wasn't too excited about going into a slower car. Hopefully it gets added soon.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

From what they told me, the ship is here in Melbourne but offshore awaiting a spot to dock due to congestion. Been here a couple of weeks floating apparently. They didn't know when it will dock but their understanding was it could have been up to another week or two.
  29. S

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Got a call from Tesla today to confirm that the ship is still delayed into Melbourne, won't offload for a week or two and hopefully will have car delivered by the end of the month. Disappointing there is a delay, but like I have said about a few other contacts by Tesla, massive thumbs up for...

    Novated Leases

With SGFleet, they are still advising that I cannot claim home charging still as they don't have a definitive answer from the ATO about what is acceptable proof. I have no problem providing the receipts for fast charging and getting that claimed back though which is a positive.

Model Y Tow Package available soon from Tesla Australia

    Novated Leases

We use SGFleet at work. Wish we didn't as they are rubbish to deal and one of the more expensive lease companies with but have no choice. My model 3 18 months ago SGFleet ordered the vehicle for me but was a pain trying to get ownership transferred to me for the app and such. Sorted in the end...

Tesla opening up the Supercharger network in Australia to other brand EVs.

Correct. I do a hell of a lot of regional travel and I understand it having talked to many. With the terrible range the standard range version teslas offer at 110kmh and higher, you are having to stop much more often, so people are tending to make the most of a stop , charging for longer to 100%...

Tesla opening up the Supercharger network in Australia to other brand EVs.

There goes doing a road trip at peak times such as school holidays and long weekends. It had already become a pain travelling up the Hume and through other areas on longer trips that I was avoiding it anyways after the last couple of times having long enough waits for it to be not worth it. Now...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Just wanted to shout out some good customer experience from Tesla again today for me. Again, so different from a bit over 18 months ago when I ordered my model 3 and it was a cluster F from start to when I got the car. I mentioned when they called yesterday if home delivery would be possible...
  37. S

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

If you're not happy about getting the vehicle quickly, just contact them and see what they can do. You never know if you don't ask. Asking a forum won't solve your issue for you, and no one here knows.

Why has Tesla's charging advice changed

I seem to think its more around there is less regen braking around 90%. People are unplugging, driving then complaining why they are having to use their brakes more and that their regen is not working like it should. Might even catch a few people out every now and then.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Well that was fast. Ordered a Model Y Long Range in white, black wheels, black interior this morning around 9am. Got an email about 10:30am from Tesla that I was matched to a car. Did the pre delivery things and a hidden VIN showed up in source. Melbourne delivery. Just got a call at 4pm from...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I just drove Bendigo to Mildura during dusk/night, stayed overnight and drove back the next afternoon/night for work. I do usually once a fortnight. The auto high beam has become much worse again on dark country roads. It became quite good there for a while. On and off constantly due to signs...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Just so you know, these are not "included" in the lease package. You pay for them in higher weekly lease repayments. If you add up the increase in the lease to cost what they are charging, they are a good 100% more than if you just get them done on your own, and as you have found these just use...

Doing own wheel rotation in Aus- my learnings

Not worth paying someone for the very minimal difference a cross rotation makes. I do my own rotation and 30 minutes absolute max. Very easy if you have the tools.

a 0.5 sec is quite a large difference. Doesn't sound a lot but it is very noticeable.

    Supercharger - Gundagai NSW

I can't remember but I had stopped at Gundagai, charged to 76% with the view of a quick top up at Wodonga to then drive the 3.5 hours rest of the way home from there. At the drive to Wodonga I did notice the nav at some points saying 25 minute wait at Wodonga (most of the time it said 10 or 5)...

    Queensland Electric Highway

Yes you don't need to explain this. I don't think it is a heating problem. The chargers I used never delivered anywhere near 50kw at any point of a charge. Summer in central queensland and after a longer drive, battery is fairly warm already. As per the video, the car doesn't doesn't heat...

    Supercharger - Gundagai NSW

I stopped at Wodonga SC yesterday around lunch time. All 6 stalls were in use and I was the 9th car in line waiting. Was on my way to melbourne so so plugged Euroa into the nav and it reckoned I would get there with 1% remaining. Decided to go for it and drive a bit slower than waiting 90...

    Queensland Electric Highway

Been using a fair few QESH chargers on a QLD holiday at the moment. Over the last week have used gin gin, mirrium vale, Rockhampton and MT Larcom.at different times. Pretty unimpressed with the speed of the QESH chargers so far. Haven't seen any where near 50kw on my Tesla model 3 and most times...

    Labor Electric Car FBT discount

Obviously don't take this as advice, but with my previous lease for a 4wd, every time I got a new accessory that was replacing an existing OEM part, such as new wheels, bullbar to replace a bumper, long range tank to replace the stock tank and so on, I just lodged the receipt to my lease company...
