Nice, did it take long to install, was there a long wait to schedule them in? You happy with it?The Towbar Guys

Probabloy worth mentioning that the Towbar Guys are in Melbourne and Carasel are Sydney (and maybe elsewhere)The Towbar Guys
That Autobarn hitch is 51 mm according to the dimensional drawing. The Repco hitch is 52 mm according to the title, but no GA provided. 2 inches is 50.8 mm.So i've got the Tesla towing kit installed.
I'm getting a Thule 3 bike carrier which is towball mounted. So the towball comes with the Thule bike carrier so I just need to source a hitch (why Tesla doesn't supply these in Aust is beyond me).
I'm in inner east melb if anyone knows of a better place than Repco or Autobarn.
So just checking, is it a 52mm I need?
eg:
So not this: 50mm: https://autobarn.com.au/ab/Autobarn-Category/Shop-our-Full-Ranges-by-Brand-|-Autobarn/Tag+/50mm-Square-Hitch/p/122571
But this one: 52mm: https://www.repco.com.au/4x4-advent...tow-hitch-long-reach-52mm-rth52lng/p/A9435157
and I figure a lockable pin for it:
How'd you end up going with the MH314? I need to fit one that has a rise instead of a drop as my trailer sits pretty high.I didn't get a chance to take photos, but I did check and it fits fine turned the other way. The ball is fairly close to the bumper, and I ended up getting another hitch, a MH314 which has two holes so is adjustable to two positions. The close setting is about 5cm further out than the MH01 and the next setting would be about another 5 cm out. With the MH01 the inside bike handlebars tended to bump the car. The MH314 also is fine turned the other way.
If that doesn't make sense I can take a photo on the weekend.
Hi I just ordered the EV stealth and the same bike rack as you did. I spoke with the guys at EV Stealth. FYI they told me that the tow hitch has a life time warranty but the install has a 12 month warranty.I could easily have fitted one myself. I just didn't want warranty issues from Tesla with the car. And the fitting has a lifetime warranty.
I have heard Tesla can tend to blame warranty issues on Third Party mods, made by non-approved installers.

Nice. We are about to get one to carry our Thule bike rack.Just reporting a very successful supply and fit of a tow bar on my MY today by Carasel in Seven Hills (Sydney).
Did while I waited and looks to be a neat and efficient job. No marks on the bumper, and all bits supplied (tow ball, tongue/goose neck, etc).
$1450 all up. Install and bar warranted by Carasel.
Very happy.
These hang solutions are ok but lack the lights and number plate requirements so you need other bits and bobs to be legit.So... I've already bought the Thule bike carrier but it seems Tesla is now selling their official one in Australia now:
We have the platform carrier from Thule as well. It's also better for your bikes if they are carbon frames. These hang solutions are ok but lack the lights and number plate requirements so you need other bits and bobs to be legit.
I switched to a Thule platform-type carrier and it's so much simpler for loading the bikes and being legal.
Yep, 7 pin plug mounted behind the black plastic cover. Nice touch is that when you lift the cover of the plug, a tiny LED illuminates the sockets to assist with plugging in at night.Nice. We are about to get one to carry our Thule bike rack.
Does it come with a 7 pin plug?
cheers
nice. seriously considering this option over the Tesla oem version. Not sure i'll ever tow anything larger than the bike carrier or maybe a small box trailer.Yep, 7 pin plug mounted behind the black plastic cover. That's my situation too. This is set up will suit me perfectly (and save some money). If you are in Sydney I would recommended Carasel.nice. seriously considering this option over the Tesla oem version. Not sure i'll ever tow anything larger than the bike carrier or maybe a small box trailer.
