That is incorrect. The 3 pin to 4 pin harnesses that were changed on later years were for the inner taillights. All model 3s have 4 pin wiring harnesses for the out tail lights, but only 3 of the pins are utilized in the US for the running, brake/turn signal (controlled by programming) and...

You don’t need a 3 pin to 4 pin adapter or wiring harness. All you need to do is swap the plugs which is quite simple. Purchase 2 of the following from a vendor of your choice: TE Connectivity 1-1456426-1 Then swap out the plugs keeping the pins in their respective pin number locations. All...

I did and can confirm this works. Helped because it was cheaper to buy the Model S key rather than the Model 3 key.

For those of you with the Pixel phones, have you tried with the spacer? I under your may not be running a wired charging cable but maybe the spacer may assist with coils matching up. Just a thought.
