Im what you might a car guy and own several exotics & performance cars. In my experience I have never had a 'dealer' offer a fai price to buy a car, never! They pretty much pay what it would go for at auction if they can't sell after 30 days. Tesla is going it right

It's smart of Tesla to trade at a very fair price for their pre-owned cars , sets a market value and keeps their customers loyal. It's hard to trade in for with say am Audi or Mercedes dealer who you know is lowballing and getting margin on the new car. With Tesla its all in the open to see

Believe it or not I got a great trade in with Tesla and when you factor in I only pay the state Utah tax on the difference of the trade amount , it's better than what I was asking

The D is a patch for Tesla to help with the back log of Model X AWD customers whose orders are getting pushed back more and more each day. Many of the X pre-orders have switched to the awd D. I love my P85+ but I know that we are now on year 3+ for that body and I would be shocked if they do...

not to mention that a new body style is surely in the works as the Model S ( D) is not going on 3+ years

could maybe have a 'paint to match' ordering system for a slightly higher cost. It works for other exotics? or better yet, do all cars 'in white' and then have them wrapped...if you tire of the color, the service center can change it out for you. :wink:

Thank you... ended up going with Silver p85 Plus and the grey wheels and upgraded black interior. I have been on the fence for a while and finally took the plunge after taking one for a spin, a whole different kind of driving experience and I love the fact its U.S.A. Made.
