I had originally nominated cash payment so emailed and they helped me out by resetting the form. I filled in the details of the leasing company.

I leased our car in September and Tesla had stopped dealing directly with lease companies. Wasn't really an issue as my lease company provided me with the details I needed but equally was the first time I've leased a car and had to do the in-betweening.

I have done this before and had to have the wheels on the dealer invoice for the car. Not sure if that will be easy with Tesla’s purchasing you could always ask them. I think it is the same for most accessories.

Ah, okay. I listed my personalised plates in the registration form - no trade-in so was just the one set.

When I picked up my car the other day the blue triangles were stuck on my plates. I have ordered a replacement front plate as I cracked it when drilling it and I asked the Tesla people if they could give more more triangles and they happily obliged.

Just finished installing the small pile of accessories. Stand ooit for me was the Spigen matt screen protector. Went on so easily and perfectly - super smooth, no bubbles, no swearing. Recommend.

Wheels changed over. I kind of like all three options - 18" with covers, 18" without covers and 19". Done now so that's that, I guess.

Just picked up our RWD from Canberra. Car is perfect and no pressure to leave - answered some of my noob questions. Just took it for a drive and calibration took only 14km. Delivery charge was 99%. I am meeting another new owner who wants to swap his 19” LR wheels for the 18” wheels as he lives...

I just checked and the car is now registered! I'm almost ready to accept that it is here and will be delivered tomorrow. Knowing we made both our children in less time makes the wait seem eternal 🙃

So with an EDD of now to 15 September, invoiced and rego forms provided, VIN not appearing on vehicle register…think vehicle is in Australia or on the water? Tesla tells me they can see it is ‘in transit’ but not where it is. Feels kind of like it is still on a boat but not far from shore…

Interesting. I am in the same boat, except my EDD updated from 29 Aug - 8 Sept to 1 Sept - 15 Sept. They haven't registered the car and asked me for the form twice (which I sent twice). Not sure where this phantom car is!

Yes, well the legislation hasn't been passed yet. If it does pass it will be backdated to 1 July which would mean retrospectively applied to that date. I'm putting my eggs in that basket.

A few articles in mainstream press today about the impending legislation to exempt electric cars from FBT - they explain the benefits pretty clearly. You’ll have a higher interest rate on the lease but pay in pre-tax dollars.

I have had multiple emails from different Tesla staff about my invoice telling me it is definitely 'processing' and will be appearing very soon (including "by tomorrow afternoon"). I had an email conversation confirming that I will be leasing and they adjusted the invoice to reflect that, but...

I have always entered into novated lease arrangements where it is me (the employee) who takes out the finance lease on a vehicle not the employer. The lease can then be novated between me, my employer and a salary packaging company (in one case we didn't bother with a salary packaging company)...
